I really hope we can see GSP get a good run as Welterweight champion. Also hope Swick gets a title shot soon. However, I don't see anyone really challenging Silva. However, his last defence was a close call.

Wonder what happened to the Light Heavyweight division for this PPV? :p

Yeah what I have seen of GSP he could be a great champion and have a long reign as champion....

Vera only has one fight left on his contract, word is Cro-Cop asked to fight him but the UFC said no unless they can come to an agreement for a contract extension.

That seems unlikely as Vera was offered a $1.5 million signing bonus with seven figures guaranteed per fight by "Elite XC" (the Showtime Promotion), the UFC's offer was $200,000 per fight and "much more" if he takes the title and can headline fights.

I think Pierre will win

As do I, but that fights not really hard to call, here are my full win picks...

St Pierre

Sanchez

Grove

Leites

Davis

Swick

Herring

Cummo

Huerta

I scored 40 points for my picks on "UFC Fight Night 9" at...

MMAPlayground

It's a fun free site where you pick the fights for points and can also make fantasy wagers with other members.

Also did anyone see Fight Night the other night...that Stevenson stopped that bloke in 27 seconds...talk about owned!!!

Yeah Joe finished him faster than I expected, I had chosen (on MMAPlayground) "Fight ends in round 2

by Submission / Tapout"

Rewatching it on Youtube...he just looked miffed it was finished so quickly...he tapped quickly as well...but then again so would I in a hold like that

It's a bad weekend to be a Montreal sports fan, first their hockey team was eliminated from making the playoffs by their arch rivals, then GSP loses on the same night.

Is it just me or have all the PPVs from both UFC and PRIDE sucked so far this year? Even if they combined the UFC 69 and PRIDE 34 shows, it would still have been bad.

I just rewatched the fight on youtube and boy...when Serra starts he just didnt stop...good to see Randy commentating...plus when does he defend his title?..I had a look at schedules all the way to UFC 73 and no mention of a title defense...maybe waiting on Crocop?

Damn man, what an upset. Well done to Serra though. Superb TKO.

As for Randy, all I can say is it was nice whilst it lasted... If CroCop wasn't around I think Randy would own the Heavyweight division big time. However, now that CroCop is around and that UFC own Pride and can pretty much juggle fighters around as they wish (although, it's unlikely they will) it looks bad for Randy.

It remains to be seen what could happen should CroCop lose at UFC 70... Unlikely, but stranger things have happened! He better not lose! They might give Silvia a rematch! :pinch:

Yeah if Crocop were to lose...which could happen look at recent stuff...Serra winning...I think someone from Pride could take that spot but then again I just dont see Crocop losing he is a mean son of a gun and just cant see it happening...

Yeah, but Crocop has been beaten before. I mean, a lot of Pride fighters look like they will dominate, look at Wanderlei Silva, he looks like a mass serial killer. But Henderson dominated him. Randleman looks like a steroid ridden psychopath, but he has been beaten. It's hit or miss. Silva's weakness was that he relied on his knees too much, and Randleman got submitted right off the bat because he is a huge hulking can of whoopass who can't stop charging people.

They can be beaten, but the thing is, I think Pride fighters will dominate UFC fighters. Almost every Pride fighter looks more in-shape, stronger, and more willing to go blow for blow. UFC fighters fight more on the ground, which could be used to their advantage. But some Pride fighters are deadly on the ground, ie. Silva. Of course, you can knee on the ground in Pride, so that's a big hit for the ground game. And Pride stands the fighters up pretty quick, which I love. I wish UFC did that more at times. I think when Pride starts pushing into UFC matches, it's going to be very tough for UFC fighters to compete.

He fights the winner of the upcoming CroCop fight. I don't know when that will be. Maybe this summer?

Despite what people say about Wandy, I still don't see him beating Chuck. I honestly feel that Rampage is far more dangerous an opponent for Chuck than Wandy would be. I wouldn't be too surprised if Rampage was to own Wandy too! If Rampage beats Chuck at UFC 71, then I seriously think it'll be tough for anyone to topple him at 205, in the UFC that is. If Chuck wins, then we're back to Square 1. :p

Newly crowned UFC welterweight champion Matt Serra (8-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) will face former champ Matt Hughes (41-5 MMA, 15-3 UFC) in his first title defense, according to UFC president Dana White in Saturday?s post-event press conference.

Serra, who scored a stunning upset of Georges St. Pierre in the main event at Houston?s UFC 69, became the first fighter ever to knockout the former champ. Prior to Saturday?s fight at the Toyota Center, St. Pierre?s only other loss was to Matt Hughes via submission armbar at UFC 50.

The Serra-Hughes title fight is expected to take place in August, possibly at a UFC 74 event.

Hughes, who lost his belt to St. Pierre at November?s UFC 65 event, had defended the UFC?s welterweight title seven times in his career (with two additional wins in non-title fights). The surefire UFC Hall of Famer most recently defeated Chris Lytle with a unanimous decision at UFC 68 last month.

During Saturday?s pay-per-view broadcast, cameras caught Hughes looking especially happy and cheering wildly after Serra?s win. It had been assumed that Hughes would next St. Pierre had he won Saturday?s fight.

?Georges looked a little smaller than usual and he didn?t look sharp when he was out there,? Hughes stated on his Web site, matt-hughes.com. ?So, I don?t know if pressure had something to do with it or what, but he just didn?t look like himself out there and Matt was able to land that big punch.?

Serra earned his title shot by winning the welterweight division of a special ?comeback? season of The Ultimate Fighter, the UFC?s reality series that airs on Spike TV.

It can be logically reasoned that Hughes will have an easier road back to the title with Serra, even with the Long Islander?s upset win on Saturday.

However, with his latest victory, Serra has won four of his pas:Dfive UFC fights.

:D

    • Gf needed a new Surface and was looking at a Surface Laptop because of the Snapdragon. Seeing as it was a two year old chip she just decided to get a Lenovo Yoga 2 in 1 instead. Personally this Surface Ultra Cassis reminds me a bit of Razor. It would be interesting if it could handle proper gaming and be 17 inch.
    • No idea, frankly, I'm not into minimum requirements gaming, but it would be an interesting test to find out. Also, I just have to point out that it wasn't my intention to downplay the performance of DXVK on Linux or Linux gaming in general (despite my own experience being a bit of a mixed bag). I just thought it would be good to point out that DXVK is not Linux exclusive and that you can benefit from using it even in Windows.
