RAM testing software?

My sisters laptop keeps bluescreening and has many problems im sure its the RAM i recently installed but as it started happening days after the RAM was installed it seems a bit odd so i really need to test it.

Does anyone know of any software that does some sort of stress tests on RAM?

I recommend GoldMemory since Memtest overlooked a faulty RAM once.

I knew there was something wrong with the RAM cause I had been frequently experiencing BSODs when using that particular module.

Memtest woluld always say it's all OK but GoldMemory would found a bunch of errors.

i don't think you will find anything more highly recommended than MemTest86.

it's the most well known application of its type. it's so popular, it's even included in the Ubuntu Live CDs! i keep Ubuntu CDs on hand at all times in case i need to run MemTest86.

id have to say memtest as it runs in its own enviroment ( bootable floppy or CD )

MemTest86+ really is the most popular program of this kind but all I'm saying is that it might not be everyone's best choice.

One should always try various programs in the quest for the one that suits him best.

i recomend only using PC DOCTOR (dos)! it will accuratly test your memory for desktops and laptops (laptops share video memory and other applications WILL fail the memory if its shared because it cant see the differnce).

i dont use memtest because of this, but memtest will likly work on desktops with little issues.

pcdoctor probably doesnt take as long as mem test - so thats also why i recomend it.

Hiren's BootCD has alot of other applications you can test... check it out some how- do a google search.
