Tutorial: How to disable 'Clear Pagefile at Shutdown'

Credits: From CNet's Insider Secrets: Speedup Windows XP

Step 1:

Go to Start -> Run

Type in the box

regedit

Step 2:

Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management

Step 3:

Change the value of ClearPageFileAtShutdown to

Close down registry.

Restart Computer

How to do the opposite:

Change the value of ClearPageFileAtShutdown to 1

Close down registry.

(This will clear paging file at shutdown!)

Restart Computer

I have on bc I have sensitive info on my laptop, it would be nice to have a "clear pagefile" button in the HD clean up wizard tool.
