rsrcomp
Sorry, I had a bad day. One of these days Neowin will make a decent countdown timer, the one that is showing is just a predefined countdown and bears no relationship to the actual time to release. SteelTrepid
Nah I'm cool with t (as you could tell from some of my previous posts), i was just thinking about the guy's who've ordered CD's/DVD's and the countdown timer said almost ready and as i'd not seen any progress reports recently i was just inquiring :) That's the thing that concerns me also. In an effort to be courteous to the people who ordered I contacted them explaining that a new version would be released soon. At the time (5 weeks ago) March hadn't been canceled yet and I thought it was going to be finished soon. Everyone has appreciated the email but I'm starting to get over anxious, I just hate having people wait so long. I've been waiting for people to post complaints or start emailing me. I'm not trying to place the blame on anyone because I do understand it is my fault. I greatly appreciate the efforts of everyone in the development team of AP. You guys kick ass and I KNOW how crazy life can be and how much fun making a lot of changes can be!! +theblazingangel MVC Posted May 1, 2007 Author MVC Share Posted May 1, 2007 just going back to finish off tweak discussion OK following tweeks are in conflict...sorted ;)Also tweks regarding improvements of IE6 like : stop IE reusing window, stop bad dns cashing, status bar ,etc ... are they working and needed for IE7?no idea, i don't use IE7...Also disable avi preview .. is it related to OS or WM?probably the operating system by the looks of it, if it was specific to wm wouldn't it be in a wm related key...Also there is no need for powertoy open command window here, beacuse there is allready a tweak in tweaks section that does the sameok, removed the powertoyA question about this tweak... is it supposed to go to .DEAFULT or to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop] , since there are both values in those both keys, and i dont know if they control same things? i believe it's supposed to be as it is (.DEFAULT) and a separate thing! This is a current set of tweaks I use for neo computers....WOW, i'll come back to this another time if i have time Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/548814-march-2007-progress-report/page/5/#findComment-588520627 Share on other sites

robertltux
im sure this has been proposed but as far as the whole update thing hows about a release file? ie in the root of an installed autopatcher you put a file named release-version with the following info ------- [type] base or expanded (old lite or full release) [target system] Windows XP [arch] x86 [language] english [current release] may 07 [next release] june 07 [patch markers] null --------- Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/548814-march-2007-progress-report/page/5/#findComment-588540486 Share on other sites
the tecky
Lets hope so, hopefully everything completed by Thursday night  . I am on call to a system on Friday with no connection to broadband. Otherwise, I will have to recode a script to re-install offline Wednesday night  Edited May 14, 2007 by the tecky Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/548814-march-2007-progress-report/page/5/#findComment-588552668 Share on other sites
gandolas
^ You can still use the November Full + Dec Update + Jan Update + Feb Update + create a cmd script for the new hotfixes.
