Hi all,

I'm having a bit of trouble accessing my HDD on a SATA.

Motherboard: Asus P4C800 Deluxe, 2 SATA HDD are connected & working, another WD HDD that's connected to an SATA port (Promise Fasttrak 378), not set to RAID but to IDE!

The drivers that are installed come up as Fasttrak 1.00.1.33... & it seems to pick up the drive on system boot! I've downloaded v1.00.1.39 (tried both XP & 2003) & installed it through the drivers update (Device Manager) but still 1.00.1.33 shows up as the drivers version on start.

In the BIOS I can set the Promise to IDE or RAID but not SATA! Which I think I read somewhere that I should set it to SATA in Vista.

In short ... has any body got the Asus P4C800-Deluxe & Vista 32bit running with 3/4 Hard disc drives?

TIA

I've tried both 2003 & XP drivers (1.0.1.39), currently Win2003... but it says that the device has not started!!!

Is there an option I can configure during boot, if I hit F6 during Vista boot I don't get the option to configure the SATA 378 as some people have said.

Control Panel --> Add Hardware --> Storage Controllers --> Have Disk --> Browse --> Floppy -or- Where you saved the one I sent --> WinXP --> fasttx2k.INF --> WinXP Promise FastTrak 376/378 Controller --. Next --> Next --> cant remember what comes after that.. but keep on doing next if it asks.. and it sould be installed..

have you restart the system after?? you have to restart the system in-order for it to work..

if you did and its still saying that then try all Controllers 1 by 1 in fasttx2k.INF & UlSata.inf but remember to restart system after each and every Controller install..

Also "Wommers" mentioned to change the SATA to RAID, I was under the impression that that would erase/loose the data on the drive?

didn't lose my data when I switched over. in fact i switch back and forth to hide some of my folders from time to time. prying eyes will never figure how to find those files as long as i have bios in the 'ide' mode. lol

Hi all...

Had the same struggle, could'nt get the controller working on Vista 32bit SP1!

Got the right drivers now, you can download it from my webserver if you want...

download url => http://www.be-koeriers.nl/dl/fasttrackvista32.rar

Unpack the pack with winrar (or whatever you'd like).

Then choose the folder for XP

Last step, choose the SATA378 Driver.

If your system asks, aprove the install of the unsigned driver.

It works here, doesn't even need to restart
