i don't know about this movie. the lame humour in the commercials seems like more then enough to make me not want to see this movie.

I can see the beginning being really boring, and ending with a couple of cool battles, with an overall okay story line

Everyone I've talked to who has seen it said it was great and RDJ played Stark amazingly. A few comic junkies even said he played the role better than that in the comics. Now I'm sure there will be more to disagree but I think he plays the role great. I'm really looking forward to it. Going to go check it out opening night, err tomorrow. I doubt it will be as good as Dark Knight, but I'm not looking for the same kinda movie, I want something funny and with explosions :)

From the Ending...as always stay for the credits and if you didn't...

From what I understand there is about a 40 second clip that follow the end credits of Iron Man featuring Sam Jackson as Nick Fury in a pow-wow with Tony Stark. The sequence was not attached to advance screenings so it has not been seen just yet and will be shown only when the film releases, starting tonight at 8 PM in select cities.

This movie is a definite must see. From seeing the trailers, it was mandatory to go see it. Lots of explosions and lots of humorous stuff. Gywneth Paltrow looked great too.

When that agent identified himself as SHIELD all I could think was Nick Fury. Make sure you stay past the credits. Tony gets to meet the head of SHIELD

I'm looking forward to this movie. I don't usually go for these kinds of movies but this one just seems a bit different. Almost seems aimed a bit more at adults than kids/teenagers. Plus great cast.

Watched it last night and as all of you out here, I was BLOWN away when I saw the Mark2 Armor coming to life . Another amazing job done by ILM ( dammit them again ! :) ). This movie was fun, with some decent acting ( I love the portraying of Stark. Downey is the perfect match for the character ), some HOT action .

Go see it and enjoy the ride .

Now, this all depends on Iron Man being a success at the box office, but a sequel could be coming in 2010. Since we can see absolutely no reason why this very enjoyable movie would fail to make a hefty profit, we should all start marking some space in our diaries for two years from now.

Brad Grey, Big Chief Superman of Paramount, told US showbiz series Entertainment Tonight that if all goes as hoped with the first movie, that a second will come out in the same week in 2010.

The news of a sequel is extremely welcome. Iron Man is a great build to what should be an amazing sequel, with a well-drawn cast of characters established and potential for some massive action. Our only ask is that they make sure to have a good story in place. It would be an enormous shame to have done such great ground work on the opening of the franchise to then slip-up on the second by rushing it into production. But we have faith in everyone involved in Iron Man, since they all seem to have genuine love for and belief in Ol' Metal Head.

Be sure to stay in the ending for this...

Tony Stark walks into the room.

A man is standing by the window...

He is like "You are NOT the only Super Hero" or "You think you are the ONLY Super Hero out there?"

Tony Stark "Who the hell are you"

They show his face (in case the voice isn't already familiar to you, but it is to me) and it's Samuel L Jackson with an Eye-patch, LOL :D

He responded something like "I am Nick Fury from S.H.I.E.L.Ds... We would love you to join the Avengers program.."

Something like that, might be off some.

Best superhero film made to date! and as it's been mentioned wait through ALL the credits to see a hint on one of the next comic book films. CAN'T Wait!!!!

BTW, Where the hell is the Green Lanter we've been hearing about? They had a script contest and everything about 4 years ago.

Loved the first half of the movie, thought it was extremely well made.

The second half not so much, played out like a pretty standard Hollywood blockbuster.

Damsel in distress, chains hanging from the ceiling, and that converter blowing up looked like it was from the original Ghostbusters to me. Just felt the second half was rushed for lack of a better term.

Overall I loved it, I did, just could have done without the whole showdown, and would have much preferred they kept the focus on the war torn countries.

Iron Man has proved its mettle and exceeded box office expectations by taking an estimated $101m (?51m) in its opening weekend in the US and Canada.

If the figures are confirmed, the comic book adaptation will become one of only 10 films to have broken the $100m barrier in its first three days.

Iron Man stars Robert Downey Jr as the comic book hero, with Gwyneth Paltrow playing his personal assistant.

It had been expected to take $70m-$80m (?35m-?40m) between Friday and Sunday.

Downey Jr plays a billionaire industrialist who invents a high-tech suit of armour that transforms him into a superhero.

1. Spider-Man 3 - $151m

2. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - $136m

3. Shrek the Third - $122m

4. Spider-Man - $115m

5. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End - $115m

6. Star Wars: Episode III - $108m

7. Shrek 2 - $108m

8. X-Men: The Last Stand - $103m

9. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - $103m

10. Iron Man - $101m

  • 1 month later...
In an article at Military.com talking about Terrence Howard's character Col. James 'Rhodey' Rhodes in Iron Man, the actor revealed that he will begin filming for Iron Man 2 in March of 2009.

The sequel has already been scheduled for a release on April 30, 2010. Jon Favreau is expected to direct again, with Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow returning as well.

You won't have to wait that long to see Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark back on the big screen, however. Just catch The Incredible Hulk this Friday for a cool cameo.

In related news, ComingSoon.net reports that Iron Man added $7.5 million domestically and $4.8 million internationally this weekend to bring its worldwide total to a massive $538 million.

In addition, spikes in CPU usage have been eliminated, resulting in a more stable architecture with significantly lower memory consumption. The Microsoft Office detection infrastructure within the Operating System section has been enhanced. Additional detection support has been added for Office C2R (Click-to-Run) installations. Furthermore, the license status evaluation system has been improved, and the priority order has been revised as follows: Licensed > Grace Period > Other (NOTIFICATIONS, EVALUATION, etc.). Additionally, the output format has been standardized to UTF-8 to prevent character encoding issues and ensure consistent data processing. Several stability and file management issues within the Debugging infrastructure have been addressed. Problems that prevented new log files from being created after Debugging was disabled, as well as issues causing debug records to be lost, have been fixed. File deletion and reaccess issues that occurred after file locks were released have also been resolved. In addition, a bug that caused newly recreated log files to remain locked after deletion has been eliminated. Unnecessary blank lines within debug logs and the extra empty line that could appear at the end of log files have also been corrected. A shortcut key conflict caused by assigning identical hotkeys to both the DNS Test Tool and the Donation page has been fixed. The DNS Test Tool can now be accessed using CTRL + Shift + D, while the Donation page is available via CTRL + Alt + D. Changes The service responsible for providing the Public IP Address and Internet Service Provider information in the Network section has been updated to use the ipinfo.io infrastructure. This change improves the accuracy and consistency of the displayed data. (No external requests are made while Hiding Mode is enabled.) Some terms in the Dutch and Korean language files have been updated to make them clearer and more user-friendly. [TS Updater] Before the update process begins, users are now prompted to choose whether they would like to view the release notes. Note: Always unzip the program before using it.
