I'm about 2/3rds of the way downloading the extras package for the third time. Let's hope the MD5sum checks out this time lol.

The torrent will be up ASAP

i seem to be having a problem with getting the new autopatcher addons

No mirror seems to be accessable and have the file (cachefly claims to have the file but won't release them)

and the torrents give some sort of autorization error (not allowed on this..?)

I still say a bulk torrent would be a good idea (if you don't have the bandwidth then grab the file level ones if you do grab the bulk version)

I had to nuke the first lot of addons - redownload the .torrent file and it;ll work.

http mirrors will go up when i've recieved enough replies from them, it looks like i'll have to wait till tomorrow, i gave them pretty short notice though so it's understandable not many have replied yet

i don't want anyone posting http mirrors yet, i want to wait till we can spread the load

please everyone, avoid the http mirrors until i post the links tomorrow

Hi! First off, thank you AP team for the great releases. This saves many people lotsa time and wasted downloading on patches/updates/extras.

I'm currently dnloading all XP stuff and seeding it all night...However, I do have a couple of questions regarding the actual use of the products. (I haven't used them yet since I will be formating tomorrow.)

I understand what the Core package is for; however, what is all the others for? There's Extras, DX May, WMP10, and MCE2005.

I'm not totally ignorant on this so I'm gonna say...Extras are for extra things (like tweakui, components, etc...)...DX is obviously the latest version of DirectX.

But WMP10? Isn't 11 the latest one? I slipstreamed WMP11 into my legit version of Windows so would I need this one?

And for MCE2005, I use Win XP Pro so would this one even benifit me?

Once again, thank you AP team, for compiling, informing, and releasing this great program to the public.

The WMP10 pack is for people who don't want to install 11 for whatever reason but want to keep 10 up to date

And MCE is for people who have the MCE version of XP

Could you guys do me huge favor do some mirrors for me. I'm still on dlaup I'd can't get wireless yet because my pine trees I need another 20feet of my tv ant pole to clear it there going look for some for me. Plus I'm getting new 250gig hard drive and put my 120gig as my backup :) getting this weekend sometime or next not sure when. Please do put mirror thanks I'm going be at my workshop tomorrow :) where they haves ethernet.

Wow guys, thanks for all the work that went into this! I have a quick question regarding the answer files: I can't seem to get 5.6 to check only the uninstalled modules, if I use an answer file it always checks modules whether they are blue or not. 5.1's answer file a different structure in notepad I've noticed, where there was a + or - and a hierarchy, such as Recommended Updates. 5.6's structure seems to just list every module checked with no hierarchy or +/-. Is there a way to use an answer file in 5.6 but have it NOT check the already installed updates in blue?

I tried the CTRL+I thing but it appears to do the same as CTRL+A.

Thanks!

Aaron

I also wish to thank you folks for such awesome work. I have been an AUTOPATCHER fan and user since 2005. I am currently d/l'ing All the 5.6 versions and will be seeding for a long time, as usual. I have one box that is dedicated to P2P use, and a broadband connection (cable).

I have 5 box's and use Win2k to Vista (including Win2k3 standard) for work and testing, I am currently experimenting with Vista. So as you can guess. I constantly reload my OS's on a regular basis. AutoPatcher has greatly improved my ability to continue my testing and consulting experience on a grand scale.

Again,

Thank You for your awesome work.

    • When will the Photos app be updated to remember the window size and position when reopened? They addressed this issue in a 2024 version of the app (though I can't recall the build number). Unfortunately, after that specific version, the problem persists! Please prioritise this fix in your K2 schedule. Additionally, the Snipping Tool has lost the ability to capture the Windows Taskbar starting from the 2024 version!

    • Anthropic pulls Fable 5 and Mythos 5 after US export control order by Pradeep Viswanathan In April this year, Anthropic launched the Claude Mythos Preview frontier model with state-of-the-art cyber and coding capabilities for a select set of companies around the world. After preparing appropriate guardrails, early this week, Anthropic launched Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5, its most capable AI models. Claude Fable 5 is for general users and comes with strict safeguards, while Mythos 5 is designed with fewer safeguards for cybersecurity and biology use cases. Today, Anthropic abruptly suspended access to its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 AI models for all customers after receiving an export control directive from the US government. The company received the directive from the government today at 5:21 p.m. ET, and the received letter did not provide any details regarding the national security concern. Anthropic understands that the government became aware of a method to bypass, or “jailbreak,” Fable 5, which might be the reason behind the directive. The order was issued under national security authorities and requires the company to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether they are inside or outside the United States. The restriction also applies to foreign national employees working at Anthropic. As a result, the company has disabled both models for all customers to ensure compliance. Access to previous Anthropic models like Opus and Sonnet is not affected by this government order. The company highlighted that it had developed strong safeguards to reduce the possibility that Fable is misused for tasks related to cybersecurity. In fact, many developers are complaining that the safeguards are going overboard. Additionally, the company worked with the US government, the UK AISI, multiple private third-party organizations, and internal teams to red-team Fable’s safeguards for thousands of hours. Finally, Anthropic noted that no testers have yet been able to find a universal jailbreak on Fable 5. As expected, Anthropic disagrees that a narrow potential jailbreak should lead to the recall of a commercial model used by hundreds of millions of people. It warned that applying this standard across the AI industry could effectively halt new frontier model deployments. Anthropic concluded by mentioning that it is working to restore access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 as soon as possible and plans to share more details within the next 24 hours.
