So from what I'm reading the K800 and the K810 are the same apart from the wrapper?surely there's got to be some difference or it wouldn't make sense to release the k810

If you look back a bit, the w800i was physically the same phone as the k750i with a new shell. In fact, you can convert one phone to the other with ease by replacing the firmware.

The k800 was 100% different hardware to the k750. 100% different firmware to the k750. Hell, even the camera was different.

The k810 is 100% different firmware to the k810 - and the hardware changes are more than cosmetic.

who mentioned the k800 series? Looks like someone needs to get their glasses checked...

w800i=k750i+bigger memory stick+new case+better headphones

So the w800i was only a cosmetic change to the k750i.

The keypad is rather unusual especially for Sony Ericsson with new rounded metallic keys, these are extremely comfortable and easy to press (great for texting). I'm not a fan of joysticks on mobiles and it's the same with the K810i, it feels rather awkward to press and just feels like it's just a matter of time before it breaks. However I've heard little about joystick problems with the K800i I just hope it's the same for this model. The buttons around the joystick are pretty much standard now on Sony Ericsson models with the two select buttons (top left, right) and the back button (bottom left) and 'C' button (bottom right) which is found of virtually every mobile these days. The button on the far right connects you straight to your mobile net homepage and the opposite one on the right opens up the main menu, in my opinion this button could be put to better use. It's just another way to access the menu which can be done by the right select button or even pressing the centre of the joystick.

Edit 03/06/07 - Found that Play (UK) are selling the K810i on T-Mobile PAYG for ?189.99 which in my opinion is a very reasonable price for this phone even if you have to splash an extra tenner to unlock it. Click the smilie for a direct link :woot:: .

HEy, I've heard that k810i's joystick brings a lot of problems as well... Anyone care to share what are some problems and inconveniences the joystick gives..................:))

Got the K810i a couple of months ago, and it really is a great phone. It looks sleek, great UI. I've actually stopped using my MP3 player because the phone music software is very good for a phone.

And I love the buttons, they're easy to use and look awesome. I don't even notice they're any different to be honest, I have no trouble using them.

I got a K810 yesterday having upgraded from a W810. TBH, I wasn't expecting much difference between the two, but I'm happy with it never the less.

I like the bigger screen and resolution. The camera, of course, is much improved. It's certainly the best quality images I've seen from any phone. It's not Walkman branded, but the music player is as good as before. The speakers are not as good, but sound quality through headphones is on par. Bluetooth 2 is present, which means streaming audio - I can connect to the stereo in my car and play songs directly to it. It also acts as a hands-free kit and will pause and resume music if I get a call. I have to say, this was probably the main reason for upgrading.

Some people have commented on the keys. I was dubiuous at first, but I've found them to be really nice to use. One slight critisism is that the numbers and letters are printed to the right of each key, which needs a bit of getting used to if you're not a "touch-txt-er".

In all honesty, my W810 was an excellent phone, and I'd happily recommend it. I couldn't fault it in any way. That said, my K810 improves on it just enough here and there to make it worthwhile.

      But the reality is it will work for people's needs, and they don't care about the technology that makes it. Clearly not everyone's needs, but that low end space where personal laptops were only used to type emails, watch content and browse websites, but they didn't want to do that on a small screen device. Heck, writing that out I can now see the connection and reason it'll do so well. Apple is about experience. If the experience is bad, they don't release it. Low end Windows laptop manufacturers up until this point have not taken that into consideration ever before, so slow laggy usage with brittle slimey plastic shells were common. I hope that the low end space at least creates better physical products that last a bit longer, and if Microsoft get their act together, they could also have a solid OS on such low end hardware that would actually make the experience work for what the hardware was intended for. The fact that the CPU is a "cellphone", sorry mobile phone processor is irrelevant. It's about the experience, and so far, that sounds quite solid.

      Hello, Bonjour is Apple's implementation of a multicast-DNS service, which allows devices running Apple's software and/or hardware to find each other on your local network.  I believe the Windows version was last updated around 2010. If you do not need it, you can stop and disable the Bonjour service in the Services Control Manager (filename: SERVICES.MSC).  Once you have done that, the operating system will no longer attempt to load the service.       Microsoft confirms Recycle Bin bug across all versions of Windows by Usama Jawad A couple of days ago, we reported that the latest Patch Tuesday update has seemingly resulted in a lot of issues for many users, including OneDrive and Dropbox access problems, BitLocker recovery lockouts, and BSODs. Although Microsoft is yet to acknowledge these bugs, it has confirmed another, relatively smaller issue across all supported versions of Windows. In an update on its Windows Release Health Dashboard, Microsoft has confirmed that after installing June's Patch Tuesday update (KB5094126), you'll experience unexpected behavior when leveraging Recycle Bin. Basically, when you attempt to delete an item from the Recycle Bin, the confirm dialog will show you the internal file name of that content rather than the actual name. For example, the file may be named abc.png, but the confirm dialog will ask if you're sure that you want to permanently delete $Rxxxxx.png from the Recycle Bin. This is pretty much it for the scope of the bug itself; it just displays the wrong name in the confirm dialog. The correct name will be shown in the list view of the Recycle Bin and if you restore the file, it will return with the correct name as well. This issue affects pretty much all supported versions of Windows client and server, including: Client: Windows 11, version 26H1; Windows 11, version 25H2; Windows 11, version 24H2; Windows 11, version 23H2; Windows 10, version 22H2; Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021; Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019; Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 2016 Server: Windows Server 2025; Windows Server 2022; Windows Server 2019; Windows Server 2016; Windows Server 2012 R2; Windows Server 2012 As things currently stand, Microsoft is working on a concrete solution that will be released in a "future" Windows update.
