So the vanishing point ended over 3 months ago and some people still haven't received there prizes. The company Microsoft picked to design the game was top notch but the company they picked to handle the prizes was a complete disaster. I sure hope Microsoft is aware of how bad this has been handled, and while I'd still play another game such as this, if they choose the same company to handle the prizes again I may think twice.

You think you're annoyed. I'm f'ing ****ed! I won the Grand Prize, found out that I won on Feb 5th, it is now May 29th and I still have not received anything. I was told they were going to give me an Alienware pc and it was being built and shipped. Then 2 1/2 weeks later, I was told they re-visited the official rules and i'll be getting the Dell system and Alienware doesn't build the model for the promotion anymore. Oh, and I was told the check for 50K was in the mail, expect 2-3 weeks. At 2 1/2 weeks I was informed there were delays and they'll let me know as soon as possible when to expect it, that was 6 weeks ago. Hmm, lets see what else. I get an e-mail on May 17th saying everything but the computer, monitor and check are being sent via UPS at the end of the week. The 17th was a thursday. Here it is 12 days later and still NOTHING!!! I've made one last phone call to Erica and sent one more e-mail, if I don't hear anything by Friday, a lot of newspapers will be getting a phone call from me.

That is pitiful by Microsoft .. needless to say start working the phones so you get what you won .. also don't let them get away with giving you anything less than what they advertised they would give away! good luck

Nice to see that I'm not the only one getting ticked off about being jerked around. I was supposed to received the second part of my prize, Vista plus the Xbox 360 accessories (what good is an Xbox with a hard drive?!?), on Friday, and I made a special trip across town to pick it up because I missed the UPS delivery, and it was only Vista. I wouldn't have driven around the corner for that.

If you don't want Vista just sell it you'll make a some good $$ off it ... as for your Xbox Question you cannot live without an Xbox without a harddrive. The hard drive allows you to download content off Xbox Live such as Demos, XBLA Games, Videos, Maps, Levels, Game Addons, Themes and also save your games without having a memory card.

well, got a reply from Marden-Kane about the shipment that supposedly was supposed to go out around the 17th of May. Funny though, the e-mail I got made no mention of that.

Your computer is anticipated to ship the week of June 11, 2007. Once we

receive a tracking number from the shipper, we will forward that on to

you.

More updates to come regarding a timeline for the shipments of the

remainder of your prize to come within the next week.

Sincerely,

Marden-Kane Inc.

Ok Seriously, what in the world is going on. The gloves are off. Now they have a pi55ed off Marine to deal with!

Has anyone else noticed that they took the vanishing point web page down?

http://www.vanishingpointgame.com/

I saw that the other day... Hope they're not trying to hide something...

I still haven't heard anything about any of my prizes. What's the deal? How hard is it to ship out a copy of windows vista that they have tons of copies of and a small mp3 player?

Well that's funny. Now when I check the website, it's back up and running...

It sure is... Weird. I've been checking the site almost every day to see if my name has been added to the winners list. It's been down all week, so I assumed it was gone for good.

BTW, My name is still not on the list, even though I already have the laptop part of my prize.

Ok, i'm not as annoyed anymore. Got an e-mail today from Erica at Marden-Kane:

The following has been shipped to you via UPS,

-A Microsoft Zune digital media player

-A Microsoft Xbox 360 gaming console

-Xbox 360 accessories (20 GB hard drive, wireless controller, headset)

-Three (3) Windows game titles (one copy of Flight Sim, one copy of Age

of Empires, and one copy of Zoo Tycoon)

-A copy of Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007 software

Your Dell Media Center is scheduled to ship the week of June 11, 2007.

Your LifeCam will ship in a separate package next week.

Sincerely,

Erica Valdellon

Marden-Kane Inc.

I'm so happy. It looks like it was shipped via Next Day Air so it should be here tomorrow (Saturday) or Monday.

This maintenance-focused release includes bug fixes, updated translations, and a range of safe enhancements. This release fixes a Windows security issue that could allow arbitrary file deletion during privileged cleaning (reported by Zeze with TeamT5). It also adds new cleaners (including a DNS cache cleaner, Claude Code, and Visual Studio Code forks), support for multiple Chrome and Edge profiles, new deep scan options for developer directories like node_modules and venv, and safer, faster file shredding. All Platforms Added cleaners for Claude Code, DNS cache, and many Visual Studio Code forks. Added support for multiple Chrome and Edge profiles. Chrome can now clean downloaded AI models. Deep Scan can optionally remove venv, __pycache__, node_modules, and .angular directories. Deep Scan is faster by skipping directories on the keep list. File shredding is safer, faster, and leaves fewer recoverable traces. Improved handling of cookies, symlinks, Unicode filenames, external processes, and configuration files. Improved Expert Mode warnings and long warning dialogs. Fixed crashes related to cleaner detection, invalid Unicode, and malformed cleaner data. Clipboard is now cleared automatically after shredding files via paste operations. Linux Added AppImage support. Added cleaners for Visual Studio Code, Codeium, Librewolf (.deb), Transmission (Flatpak), and Profanity. Improved Linux trash detection, including Snap-installed applications and mounted drives. Fixed Wayland root CLI issues and several Snap-related problems. Improved package dependencies, AppStream metadata, and desktop file handling. Fixed startup crashes when Python Requests is unavailable. Windows Fixed a security vulnerability that could allow arbitrary file deletion when cleaning with elevated privileges. Added %WindowsSystem% variable support. Improved clipboard clearing using native Windows APIs. Improved installer experience on unsupported Windows versions. Reduced installer size and improved application robustness. Fixed Unicode handling, filename anonymization, Git revision reporting, and splash screen stability. • DriversCloud 12.1.6 by Razvan Serea With DriversCloud (formerly My-Config.com), you can explore your computer easily, safely and free. The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it. Created in 2004, and continually improved, My-Config.com has established itself on the web as a free service to PC users running Windows and Linux operating systems. The service is designed to work with the most common Internet browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
