Hello everyone, I already saw frontpage news about Microsoft teched and Neowin will be covering, But the news poster failed to mention about TechED will be going around worldwide.

I suggest, whoever on neowin is planning to attending in their cities should discuss here , take advantage for group signup concessions and have a blast :)

I will be attending the Mumbai's event http://www.techmela.com/technology.htm location is at Marriott Hotel (Fantastic place microsoft picked up :) ). So if you planning to go, lets signup together, not all of my friends can attend this , cause they either cant take off from work or not interested, one is MVP but he has done everything that will be going in Labs so he is not interested ( bummer).

I'm off to Barcelona this year.

But I'd also like to see it come to the UK (well my firms paying so I don't mind that much ;))

Fantastic. your company is good. I think there has to be some spanish neowiners and you go in as group :) give shoutout here any spanish ppl.

going in group works better cause you can share stuff like cd's , presentations , talk about labs in breaks and stuff .

  • 2 weeks later...

I read lots of stuff about tech ed usa etc but I did not read what people took away from them, maybe I did not read any proper blogs etc.

The One I attended in mumbai was hellaof-fun.

Some keywords that I will be thinking of this year is Orcas (visual studio 2008), Veridian (Windows server 2008), Windows System Center for small business (adds MOM and MOF), Microsoft Windows Virtual Server deployment and strategy to manage/scale and tight integration of .vhd files, commandline exploring of .vhd disk without mounting etc., poweershell. Windows core server 2008 (kinda softcore :p). Terminal services 2008 and publishing Full apps to client giving look-and-feel of local app. Windows Softgrid (very diff from terminal services) providing isolated app . MS SQL 2005 ,deployment-monitoring-troubleshooting tempdb stuff.

So thats all for me to check on this year :) the fun thing is , all can be downloaded to try and many things are free too. I think I can push my company to provide some solutions than just windows reseller servers .. lets see.

and speaking of neowin, I don't think there is any proper crowd at all who are working in this field just pre-teen-fanboies who are beta junkies (i was going to say something else than junkies but that would had been too-rude) , I was expecting good amount of responses here . anyway.

This topic is now closed to further replies.

    • Can you read? I've said I'm willing to pay more for a notchless (no notch) 3:2 screen.
    • Not even an OLED display on the laptops. Also it seems that the laptop design isn't the same as the Surface Ultra model. Looks like bargain bin at high prices.
    • make your own notch - it's not that hard
    • VirtualBox 7.2.10 by Razvan Serea VirtualBox is a powerful x86 and AMD64/Intel64 virtualization product for enterprise as well as home use. Targeted at server, desktop and embedded use, it is now the only professional-quality virtualization solution that is also Open Source Software. Presently, VirtualBox runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, and Solaris hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, 7, 8, Windows 10 and Windows 11), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4, 2.6, 3.x, 4.x, 5.x and 6.x), Solaris and OpenSolaris, OS/2, OpenBSD, NetBSD and FreeBSD. Some of the features of VirtualBox are: Modularity. VirtualBox has an extremely modular design with well-defined internal programming interfaces and a client/server design. This makes it easy to control it from several interfaces at once: for example, you can start a virtual machine in a typical virtual machine GUI and then control that machine from the command line, or possibly remotely. VirtualBox also comes with a full Software Development Kit: even though it is Open Source Software, you don't have to hack the source to write a new interface for VirtualBox. Virtual machine descriptions in XML. The configuration settings of virtual machines are stored entirely in XML and are independent of the local machines. Virtual machine definitions can therefore easily be ported to other computers. • OK, now ask yourself how are they going to enforce that law? By requiring every single adult to prove their age and provide their legal identity documents to an UNREGULATED 3rd party company that already has a long track record of multiple data breaches. Not to mention, parliament have voted AGAINST this ban, twice, and Starmer is going ahead anyway. So, where's the democracy here, because that looks like dictatorship to me. The solution here is parental responsibility, not government control. Run some public service announcements on TV and UK social media teaching parents how to setup parental controls. That's already been proven to actually work. But the, this is not and has NEVER been about keeping kids safe. It's about control and monitoring. Watching what you're doing online and controlling what you can see and what you can say.
