Remove XP Partition


Question

Hi Guys

So i go Vista Ultimate a few months ago so i partitioned my HD so i have would have XP that was on my system and then i installed Vista on the second partition. I am not happy with Vista and i now want to just do away with XP and add that space to the Vista partition.

Can anyone tell me the best way to do this ?

Go to the disk manager (or equivalent) in Vista and delete the XP partition, then extend the Vista partition into the free space.

Grab and install EasyBCD, select the XP boot loader entry and press delete (see image below). You will be left with the Vista boot loader and Vista will treat the (formerly) XP partition as just another partition.

Of course, it's best to image your Vista partition or even just backup your files before trying any such thing (just in case anything catastrophic happens).
