Dude! font that used in config don't support any encoding except english :)

So if you want to see Japanese/Chinese/Korean characters just change fonts in config manually ;)

Excuse me, but how am I supposed to do that? before I installed dawxxx666's skin, I could do it at "default user interface" but once I had the skin, this option appears as blocked, alas, I can't modify it.

Could anyone tell me what to do instead? I don't know much about foobar.

Thanks.

Can someone help, I'm a noob at this game and just can't get my code right for track info panel.

Currently it is:

// PerSecond

$align(center,top)$font(calibri,15,bold,255-255-255)

ffffff%playback_time% - %length%$char(10)

//PerTrack

$align(left,bottom)$font(calibri,10,uppercase,255-255-255)

D7B997Title: ffffff%title%$char(10)

D7B997Artist: F3EAE0%artist%$char(10)

D7B997Album: F3EAE0%album%$char(10)

This is working ok, as can be seen in screenshot, but how do I add padding to the bottom section?? I tried $pad(x,y) but I think I have the syntax wrong or something?? Please help?

Of cause!

Just go into Foo2k Preferences->Panels UI->Edit Layout->Globals (button at the right bottom of window :) )

You'll see something like this:

$ifgreater($getpvar(MyFont),0,
//hooge 05_53
	$puts(fontAVA,Trebuchet MS)
	$puts(fontAVAsize,8)
	$puts(fontAVAsize_2,8)
	$puts(fontAVAsize_3,8)
	$puts(fontAVAsize_4,8)
,
// Swis721 Cn BT D-Type
	$puts(fontAVA,Tahoma)
	$puts(fontAVAsize,8)
	$puts(fontAVAsize_2,8)
	$puts(fontAVAsize_3,7)
	$puts(fontAVAsize_4,8)
)
$if($fontexists(Tahoma),
// hooge 05_53
	$puts(fontrating,Tahoma)
,
	$puts(fontrating,Tahoma)
)
$if($fontexists(),
// HandelGotD
	$puts(fontlyrics,Tahoma)
,
// Swis721 Cn BT D-Type
	$puts(fontlyrics,Tahoma)
)

Just change font-names that I marked and you'll get custom foobar :)

Hi, dawxxx666

I love your config. It's great :) been using it for a while. and there is something i want to ask.

I used 1.0.3+ with PUI 14.12b, I found that if i hover my mouse over some button (hide,exit,miniplayer,search,next&previous playlist, maybe another) CPU usage will jump up to 50% for a few seconds. it's happen even from fresh install & unmoded. at first i thought it's normal but i never seen something like this happen with any another config before.

So i tried version 1.0.3 and it doesn't happen. So i thought maybe there is a problem with 1.0.3+. can you (or someone else) check it out?

Thank you so much!!! it worked, I can finally use it properly :woot:

Feature Request:

I have a suggestion for further improving that fantastic skin:

The arrow in the middle of the main window opens/closes the playlist.

It would be great to have such a button at the left edge of the main screen

to open the albumlist at the left of the albumart:

albumlist:albumart:playlist

Besides that a nearly perfect skin!!!

Winamp has gone from my hdd now...

OK, after a bit of experiment i finally found that Channel spectrum with Transparent background "on" cause this CPU spike.

After some modding by draw Channel spectrum in the left track display panel (the one that show album art) and use "Fast pseudo-tranparent mode" instead of at main layout. (Which you can't use "Fast pseudo-tranparent mode" in Channel spectrum because it will cause glitch display.) and problem is gone. my cpu usage is reduced, and it's look exactly just like real transparent mode.

Now, I am happy. Thanks for the great config dawxxx666 :)

Hello, I have modded FooAvA a bit to get that clear glass effect on Vista. I just have one small problem:

I have a small square hole on each individual cover art on the right playlist panel which I have been unable to fix, attached is a screenshot of what I am talking about.

@JJJ

Here is what you need to do to properly display your album art:

Right click on the album art portion of the playlist, go to settings, make sure you are in Group Display:

	$drawrect(1,8,37,37,brushcolor-null pencolor-180-180-180)
	$imageabs2(33,33,,,,,3,10,images\fooAVA\art5.png,nokeepaspect)
	$imageabs2(33,33,,,,,3,10,$replace(%path%,%filename_ext%,*.gif),NOKEEPASPECT)
	$imageabs2(33,33,,,,,3,10,$replace(%path%,%filename_ext%,*.png),NOKEEPASPECT)
	$imageabs2(33,33,,,,,3,10,$replace(%path%,%filename_ext%,*.jpg),NOKEEPASPECT)
	$imageabs2(33,33,,,,,3,10,$replace(%path%,%filename_ext%,*.bmp),NOKEEPASPECT)
	$imageabs2(33,33,,,,,3,10,$replace(%path%,%filename_ext%,*cover*.*),NOKEEPASPECT)
	$imageabs2(33,33,,,,,3,10,$replace(%path%,%filename_ext%,*folder*.*),NOKEEPASPECT)
	$imageabs2(34,34,,,,,3,10,images\fooAVA\artoverlay.png,)
	$puts(xoffset,40)

Replace the current chunk with that, it adds .bmp support and also adds the additional search for cover/folder images.

First of all, try to to get rid of all blur effects, e.g.:

$font($get(fontAVA),9,glow-20-20-20glowexpand-0 glowalpha-100,255-255-255)

change it to:

$font($get(fontAVA),9,,255-255-255)

How about updates? :unsure:

I'm quite busy now :( Maybe in January 2008...

I just started using foobar yesterday, and I love it already. It's very nice aesthetically, and simple to use.

I noticed that if you use the new foobar beta release with the components provided for fooava 1.03, you'll get very weird, and mixed, results. If anyone is having problems with this, it's probably because they didn't EXACTLY follow the tutorial. Good job to everyone who's help with this, with a massive thank you to David.

Someone using the newer 1.03+ build, could you please post a picture of your components folder? I think I'm missing something, but I'm not entirely sure.

what font is used for fontAVA?

It's Swis721 Cn BT D-Type

Make sure that you have latest version of those files :)

The scroll bar along the right side looks incredibly out of place. It wasn't an issue until I started adding more tracks, but I haven't gone back through the forum for the solution. Also, some of the fonts seem like they're crowded together.

components.jpg

I guess I have some catching up to do...

After some searching, I found these two sites that have a good deal of components available for download:

http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?ti...:Components_0.9

http://www.fooblog2000.com/components

Are there any other sites that have a large amount of components available for download?

I still cannot find the following components that dawxxx666 has in his component folder (some were "available" but the links were dead):

Dolby Headphone Wrapper 1.1 (foo_dsp_dolbyhp)

Channel Spectrum panel 0.10.1 (foo_uie_vis_channel_spectrum)

Playlists Dropdown 0.6 alpha 4 (foo_uie_playlists_dropdown) <-- up to alpha 6, but links are all dead

File Operations 2.0 (foo_fileops)

Please let me know where I can find these. I'm almost willing to invest in a file server or making a torrent for all of these.

It's up to you and your VS what scrollbar will look like. About the fonts: you have to manually turn on ClearType or wait for new version of my foo

Thanks, I managed to everything but File Operations (foo_fileops v2.0). Oh well, I guess...

I just started using this 2 days ago. VS? Visual settings? Also, I don't know how to manually turn on ClearType. I'll spend some time digging through threads... :|

Thanks for all your help. It's really awesome that you spend the time helping people with this. Rarely does some one who's invested the time writing the code take the time to help out others when there's problems.

    • SKG Hand Massager with Heat OS500 hands on by Steven Parker I was offered the chance to test out the SKG Hand Massager with Heat OS500, and full disclosure, they let me keep it regardless of my findings. Anyway, I jumped at the chance due to my long hours sitting at my desk, mousing around. Apologies for the knife cut across the top of the box; that was my doing, being a bit too heavy-handed with opening up the outer packaging. First up, what's in the box: SKG Hand Massager with Heat OS500 1x Type-C charging cable User Manual 1-Year Warranty (card) In short, everything you need to get started. According to the official Amazon listing, here are the key features: Full-Hand Air Compression: OS500 wraps your fingers, palm, and wrist with multi-chamber air compression for a complete hand relaxation experience. The extended massage chamber helps cover more of the hand and wrist area than standard palm-only hand massagers Palm Kneading with 6 Modes & 6 Intensities: Built-in palm kneading rollers add a hands-on massage feel, while 6 preset modes and 6 pressure levels let you choose the comfort level that fits your day—from gentle relaxation to a firmer full-hand massage 3 Heat Levels with Cooling Fan: Choose from 104°F, 113°F or 122°F warmth to suit different seasons and comfort preferences. The built-in cooling fan helps reduce stuffiness during heated sessions, keeping your hand feeling fresh and comfortable Easy Visual Display & Smart Timer: The digital image display clearly shows massage area, mode, intensity, heat level, and remaining time at a glance. Select 10, 15, or 20-minute sessions for quick office breaks, evening relaxation, or everyday hand care Rechargeable, Cordless & Comfortable: A 3000mAh battery supports over 90 minutes of full-function use on a full charge, with convenient USB-C charging. The soft inner lining, smooth ABS/PU finish, and premium black-gold design make OS500 ideal for home, office, or gifting With all that out of the way, here are my own findings. I gave it a try on both left and right hands, and as you can maybe see from the above YouTube Short, (sorry for the shaky video), my whole hand fits in, but my wrist barely enters the Hand Massager. I was able to push through a bit more with my fingertips extending out the other end to get a bit of massaging on the start of my wrist. Usage For some reason, there is a strap that is very difficult to fasten to my wrist with one hand. I am not sure what function it has, and it isn't mentioned in the user manual. The only thing I could find was in the product images that claimed "wrist precision". Unlike the Bob and Brad Hand Massager, this device does not massage the wrist anyway, even though a "wrist mode" is mentioned, which must be for smaller hands than I have, as it is mainly intended for the hand and fingers. In addition, for its steeper price, there are no disposable gloves provided in the box, which is a bit of an issue considering the internal cover (which appears to be elasticated nylon) cannot be removed for washing; so you are left with only one choice: always thoroughly wash your hands before using it. I can imagine this thing getting a bit grimy after a period of use, and that is a bit of a shame. With that said, the buttons on the device, from left to right, do the following: Heat button: 3-level heat control at 104°F, 113°F, or 122°F Mode button: Auto mode Circular mode Soothing mode Relax mode Palm and fingers mode Palm and wrist mode Intensity button: from (First-time users) 15Ka, 25Ka, 35Ka, 45Ka, 55Ka, 60Ka (Intensive relief) Knead button: on or off (6 pressure levels) Power button: Long-press to turn on or off Cooling button: turn on or off the cooling fan Also, in the product imagery, it states there are 36 "custom modes," but nowhere is it listed what these modes are. I can only imagine that they mean a combination of all of the above settings in different intensity levels. The device itself seems to rely on a single "kneading" mechanism located at the palm area of the hand, which spins when in use, and the other massage features are mainly utilized through the air sacs, increasing and decreasing at various levels on the hand and fingers. I am not sure it offered too much relief for someone who is typing and operating a mouse for hours at a time; further testing may be required. It does feel nice, though. Finally, you may be wondering how this fits into the scope of a tech website? Well, let me tell you something: sometimes I sit for up to 15 hours working on Neowin, and although I take breaks in between, it takes a toll on my body. I think in the immediate absence of a partner to apply relief, a good massager like this Hand Massager can shed the strains of the day in just a couple of 15-minute bursts. On the official website, this has an MSRP of $99.99, but luckily for our readers, it is selling at $10 off for just $89.99 right now on Amazon. SKG Hand Massager with Heat OS500 for $89.99 (with $10 off coupon), $99.99 MSRP For me, this gets a thumbs hands(?) down. However, it could be improved by making it so that the protective covering could be removed and thrown into the washing machine, or get yourself some disposable gloves to use with it.
