The Dead Zone Season 6 Discussion *SPOILERS*

Recommended Posts

Alright, who saw last night's S6 premiere??

All I gotta say is - holy ****!

Last chance for those who don't want to know what happened, spoilers ahead!

The previews all said that this episode would change Johnny forever, boy they weren't kidding. I think any of us Zoner fans probably figured one of the main characters was going to get knocked off, but I never expected Walt of all people to get killed! Man, I guess now Johnny's life will come full circle, as I'm sure he and Sara will get back together sooner or later.

Plus, that evil guy (I forget his name) the one in charge of that "group" that wanted Stilson in charge was killed also...yikes. And Stilson....what the? Now at the end of the episode, Johnny shakes his hand and DOESN'T see Washington D.C. nuked....ok? Hmmm, and Stilson tells him, he isn't the man he thinks he is. Interesting to say the least.

So to recap, Stilson is Vice President of the US now, Walt has now been killed off, Sara is pregnant again (Walt?) and Johnny's best friend has a new job offer (but doesn't take it). Way to start off the (assumed) final season eh?

What do you guys think? If any of you even remembered it was on :D

I read the book and finished it alittle bit before season one started and i loved the series, saw a bunch of episodes but because of my schedule never got into the way of a routine watcher. What day and time is the show on? Is it still on USA?

I don't watch this show, but from your title I would assume that even though there is a spoiler tag, you reveal the spoiler before anyone decides to click on the link or not. Correct me if I'm wrong.

i have no idea what you just said...but if you think the "Mr. Smith returns" part is a spoiler you are sadly mistaken as he is the main character of the show...

so no you don't see any spoilers until you open and read the thread...

Any thoughs on the 2nd episode guys?

New Sheriff in town, obviously doesn't buy into Johnny and his visions (yet). Johnny asks Sarah and JJ to move in with him. Who didn't see that coming eh?

No Stilson of course. Overall a pretty solid episode introducing the new character, but doesn't further the mythos of the show at all. Obviously Doomsday is still coming, as that is the entire point of the show (unless they have changed that now, which I doubt).

Whoops, NM, they did change actors. Stupid IMDB and TV.com haven't been updated yet.

They changed actors probably because of schooling or perhaps they felt the kid needed to start looking "older" and more like Johnny or something?

more like Johnny or something?

i would hope that's not the case...since this kid looks less like Johnny than the other kid...

i don't remember where but i remember reading something that said they had to change the actor due to changing the shooting location...i guess the kid couldn't move/go to where ever they were gonna be shooting from now on....

    • This looks awesome, I will request access via Steam later this afternoon!
    • Personally, I’ve found that it’s usually worth investing in the infrastructure you don’t want to replace later, especially cabling. Running Cat6A (or better, depending on your needs) during an upgrade is relatively inexpensive compared to having to re-cable a few years down the road. For switches I try to balance current specs with realistic growth. If my budget allows it Ill choose switches with higher uplink speeds which leaves room for expanding later on, but I don’t necessarily overspend on access ports if the endpoints won’t benefit from them anytime soon. One lesson I’ve learned is that planning for scalability pays off. It’s much easier to add devices, VLANs, or higher-bandwidth workloads when your network infrastructure already supports it than to replace hardware later.  What is your budget like?
    • I hate the term, "future-proof." We saw it back in the 90's / 2000's, if not before. You cannot future-proof anything, since there is no definition of how far into the future you plan on prepping for. Best idea is to tell us what you currently have and what its use is at the moment, and we can then offer ideas about some areas that might need an upgrade and other areas that can be left alone.
    • I can agree that it is being used in a small capacity. I worked for a company where their engineers still used XP, and when asked why it was because their sensor software wasn't compatible with newer operating systems and the software was discontinued so they couldn't upgrade the software. Given that the sensors were still in use by companies, they had to continue using XP to support the sensor, otherwise the price to the company would have gone into the millions or billions. Our response was simple: Ok, you can keep the XP machine. But we're removing it from the network. "But then it can't access the Internet or folder shares!" Yup, kinda the point. If someone wants to continue using an unsecure OS they can do, I have no problem with that. But it should be isolated. Simple. I had a fight with a guy in the engineering department for weeks before he finally relented. But we digress.   What do I plan on doing to commemorate the anniversary? Nothing. I have fond memories of the OS, but at the end of the day it's just an OS. If I had some time I might see if I could install it on my Raspberry Pi for a laugh. But my reflex memory with today's OS ideas would probably get me frustrated and I'd uninstall it after 5 mins.
