Hi,

I googled the entire forum and I've found the same problem mentionned on an other post for Autopatcher Vista May2007 but no solution yet...

https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?show...#entry588585455

I also have the same problem with Autopatcher XP Core May 2007:

I downloaded the latest core release for XP and got this error message as soon as i run the installed EXE:

---------

What AutoPatcher was trying to do

It appears that the error occured while AutoPatcher was trying to set folder variables through filesystem.

Where: mdlInitialization.Main()

Error Code: 0x1AD: ActiveX component can't create object

Could anybody help me with this problem, please?

Thanks

I've got the same issue with my XP Autopatcher..

found a solution yet? I've tried every OCX register/unregister i could find relating to this error, nothing works.

No solution yet, and absolutely no help from this forum... I think I'll try to find a crack that will allow me to do the updates through 'Windows update'.

Good luck,

CLG

Hi,

That error is not very common and generally relates to running software on a PC which is part of a domain.

I would guess this is a permissions issue.

Do you have permission to run software or install software to the folder you are using?

Are you logged on as a Vista Administrator? Logon with an account which is set as an Admin.

Do you have UAC enabled or disabled? If you have UAC disabled this could actually be the cause of the issue.

Re-enable it and then try AP again.

Kind Regards

Simon

    • I'm waiting for windows 12. They will probably release it next year. By that point they might have moved all of control panel over to the settings app which would be nice.
    • Well damn i am already suffering and I don’t want crap like that - fixing things that already worked before… sons ewe can’t have win10 forever as promised i might as well wait for win 12 and (fingers crossed) hope it will be the good version again
