slow cpu performance after windows update

My system spec are as follows,

AMD 4000(939)

2GB cosair ram

2 raptor 150gb

1 320 gb seagate

6600gt graphic card PCI

480 watts PSU.

Asus A8N32 SLI

I have been updating my pc for windows updates from the windows update site. After updating I found a strange problem that the overall system performance drops and cpu performance drops by a huge margin. I been running benchmarks using pcpitstop and without the updates the cpu scores around 8000-8111 and after the windows update it drops to 7200-7300.

I reformatted twice with xp pro and media centre 2005 and same issue, once the updates has been installed via the Windows updates site the whole system performance drops but cpu is effected the most. I did everything clean up Defrag the HDs and so on, but I am amazed that a glitch of this kind could happen after updating an operating system via Windows updates.

Are these updates -causing the problem- critical ?

Because before i had the same problem but with non-critical updates, so i uninstalled them and everything became ok...

I don't know which updates are causing the problems but there is glitch some where with these updates. Microsoft is full of dick heads I mean come on this is a huge problem...

I'll just do a format and will not install anything except critical updates.

ok I found the problem and it is with non critical updates. I will do a format and only stick to critcal updates.
