I do not want to create global hotkeys that work in the whole system. I have this note taking app which uses a TextBox to display the note (from a text file) and for now, I want only 2 internal shortcuts.
Ctrl + A: To select the whole text in the TextBox
Ctrl + S: To automatically save the note to the text file
I only want both hotkeys to work if the TextBox control has focus...
Reminder: Because this survey is voluntary and doesn't track specific user changes over time, it is worthless for comparisons month to month or year to year. Therefore it is nothing but pure monthly clickbait garbage.
Thanks to pressure from users, Neowin used to have a disclaimer about this, but doesn't anymore.
Valve could easily release the actual aggregated information (anonymized for privacy) , but I assume that is only for advertisers/etc. that pay for it...
The main reason would be the owners - a Chinese consortium. Now don't get me wrong, I don't trust any large company regardless of where they are from, but given the close links of the Chinese government to national companies, no thanks.
And it's not because I have secrets I want to hide, but privacy is a concept tenuous at best in China, and while Opera technically has to follow (for example) EU guidelines in order to operate here, who really knows where the data goes?
>could also be used to verify the age of people visiting adult websites without needing to reveal their identity as part of the verification process.
Anyone know how it could possibly do this and still respect user privacy from hackers/reselling/etc.?
I really don't get the argument for staying on Windows 10. I haven't seen any good enough reason. I've seen 11 be faster, better security and less issues. Sure, there are some quirks on settings and such but not a big deal, whatever. Technology is always changing and if you can't roll with change, go live in the woods (kidding, but still)
