I usually just update parts but I've had:

Macintosh Plus

(no idea on specs)

IBM 386

(no idea on specs)

Pentium MMX

(no idea on specs)

Toshiba Pro Satellite

(no idea on specs)

Pentium 3 900

GeForce4 MX 440

1TB total HDD space (still used for storage here at home)

2GB ram

Pentium 4 2.4Ghz

GeForce 6600 GT

about 500Gb

2Gb ram

Pentium 4 3Ghz Extreme Edition

GeForce 6600 GT

about 500GB

2Gb Ram

Core 2 Duo (T7200)

Geforce 7700

160GB

2Gb DDRII

Core 2 Duo (T7200) ? ASUS G1 - currently using this as my main

Geforce 7700

160GB

2Gb DDRII

Bought 2 ASUS G1 (dont ask why)

That's all I can remember atm

I've had 3 myself, but if you count my dad's PCs and my brother's one, it totals to 6.

My first PC (family one): Fujitsu ??? bought from ToysRUs

  • Intel Pentium 2 processor
  • ??? I can't remember anything else about it!

My first PC (shared with my brother): Compaq Preario S7150UK bought from PC World

  • Intel Celeron 2.8GHz processor
  • 256MB DDR RAM PC2700
  • 80GB HDD
  • Upgraded from Intel intergrated graphics to NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 128MB DDR

My third and current PC: custom-built by me!

  • AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2GHz
  • 1GB DDR2 RAM
  • 200GB Maxtor HDD
  • NVIDIA GeForce 6600LE 256MB DDR

I don't understand how you remember every little spec for all your old computers

The one I own now is the only computer I've personally owned, I used to use the family computer, which is actually what this used to be, I have just upgraded bits here and there.

It used to be:

AMD 2400+

ATI Radeon 9600 Pro

256mb ram (might have been 512 actually)

Now it's

AMD 64 3700+

1024mb Ram

ATI Radeon X800 Pro

The only things that still remain from the old PC is the sound card, tower/case, mouse and hard drive. The sound card is fine, but I'm upgrading the mouse and tower soon.

The family computer before that was a 900Mhz P.O.S.. Heh, I only remember the CPU speed for some reason, same for the one before that, all I remember was it being 200Mhz, that was the first computer our family ever owned. I still remember the day I came home from school and I wasn't expecting it, I was over the moon :p

I've had...4. Which isn't bad as I'm only 18.

Got this one after I blew my last one up (NEVER play around with the insides when it's turned on)...I now use that one as a radiator. Seriously.

I'm using the same PC I built back in 1982, all I have changed since over the years is the mobo, processor, memory, graphics card, case, sound card, power supply etc. Not bad going for a PC I built 25yrs ago :D

Beside some old Apple II's, I couldn't be bothered with computers.

Between 90'-92' I was introduced to (B)ulletin (B)oard (S)ystems. My grandfather bought my sister and I a Pentium 60, shortly thereafter.

Acer Pentium 60

My really good friend's parents ran one of the most successful BBS' in southern California. They had 12 lines and eventually went to 24 lines.

I began designing ASCII interfaces for old Renegade and MajorBBS platforms. You can still see some of my work in the ACiD collections. :p

I eventually upgraded that machine to 166 Cyrix, 8 MB, 14.4... The US Robotics modem was almost $200...Woo!

Now, I can't really remember how many systems I've had. Most everything is cobbled together from hand me downs from Bosaka. At least, on the PC side of things. Everything since has been Home Brew.

I have the fondest memories of the one above, however.

Windows 3.1, I first learned to program on this computer... in DOS of course. Made a badass stick fighting game as my first program. Was pretty cool back then when i was 9yrs old.

HP (first computer I got on the internet with). I don't remember any of the specs. This is the computer that got me into AOL warez and some other bad stuff i'm not proud of now that i'm older.

HP N3410 Laptop (because I thought laptops where cool and I went with this instead of a desktop but I was 13 so I used it like a Desktop mostly)

Emachines 1.4ghz Desktop (trashed and grabbed HD and Ram for server) (first computer I bought with my own money when I was 15yrs old)

Dell Inspiron 1600 1.8ghz Intel Mobile Processor (sold to ex-girlfriend)

Server System Athlon 64bit 3200

that's about it. There have been a couple crappy built computers I've thrown together with spare parts to use as a file server but I don't remember them exactly, just the main file server I have now that is actually worth being called a computer)

  1. Atari 400
  2. Atari 800XL
  3. Atari MegaST2
  4. Packard Bell Pentium 90 (first purchase of a Microsoft system) with Windows 3.11
  5. whitebox Pentium Pro 200MHz (just a month before Intel orphaned the Pro line of CPUs)
  6. Compaq 800MHz
  7. Bought new motherboard for above, AMD Althon 1600+. Still use this as my PC.

So that is 7 PCs that I have personally owned since around 1980.
