I don't understand, what does this app do that MS Word doesn't?

Can Word create reference lists? I know they have templates which you can edit, but I wasn't aware that it allows the user to input data which is assembled into properly formatted reference lists. If it can please show me as it would save me the trouble of trying to iron out all the bugs :p (joking ha ha).

You should add different styles like APA and MLA (Y) good work though.

I'll look into it, I've never heard of either so I'll do some research and get cracking on it later. Any good sites you guys know of would be useful. (Y)

You could write one that works well under linux if you want ;) I can't get this one to run under mono or wine :(

What version of the .net framework does mono support? The Harvard Referencer does use bits of 2 so perhaps it's not properly supported? I might, maybe one day rewrite it in Java which would bypass that problem.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys, if you like it, could you leave a comment on my blog - it would be nice to have some positive comments about the Harvard Referencer on there.

Thanks guys and any other suggestions either email me or post on here/my blog.

Hey, now that's an idea! If you don't mind I'll write it in Java, since that the only non .NET language I know, good luck porting to Mono though, I got lost reading the tutorials.

In the US MLA and Chicago-Turabian are the most common, so that would be really nice. :D

Does anyone mind command line apps? :p

If you do want to port it you'll have to come up with a way of preserving the formatting, i.e. having text, italic text, text, which I presume would be impossible on the command line.

You'll have to do it with a GUI if at all. Again to create the formatting you'll need to use something like a JTextField, but I'm not sure if you can do the alternative formatting in one of those. :/

Well I'm currently using Word 2007 (but I know 2003 had the option as well):

References > Manage Sources

Sort your spelling out. There is no such word as "multipul" - it's "multiple". I am not gonna download your app, but I suggest that (based upon posting a screenshot with such an error) you check every label, dialogue and alert.

Right thanks for that. I try very hard to get spelling right but it's something I really struggle with and so "multipul" must have slipped through my screening.

While we're on the subject - "dialogue" means a conversation between two people - you meant to say "dialog".

To Slimy:

Thanks for pointing that out, I've never noticed that before. Anyone who wants the APA style please follow Slimy's advice.

Just amazing... I started uni this sept and totally hate referencing already lol.

I have spent hours doing references for one of my assignments, this it?s going to save me a lot of time on future assignments:D:D thanks

    • Yup, broke my comp… again. its times like this when I regret AMD. This just never happens on NV.
    • Huh? You're delusional calling the Steam Deck dead. It is so successful that it has sold out multiple times. Even after the price hike this year it sold out again with 24 hours of being back in stock. The demand is real and has not died down even after four years.
    • Same place "Unreal III" is, in everyone's thoughts!
    • So how much water is used in that "initial charge" and how often will it need to be recharged?
