DJ Tiesto - Adagio for Strings.

A lot of Tiesto's stuff is the best i've ever heard, techno wise.

Erm, Adagio for Strings was originally by Samuel Barber. And then William Orbit did a trance/dance mix called Barber's Adagio For Strings.

All Tiesto did was slap some other stuff over it. William Orbit deserves credit for the work he did producing it, as well as Samuel Barber for the original, which is still hauntingly amazing.

'Techno' IMO is horrible sped up remixes overlaid with high pitched whining and crazy beats at 200BPM.

Most of the music listed by people above do not fall into this category.

Faithless, Paul Van Dyk, Ti?sto, Chemical Brothers, Above & Beyond, Steve Angello, Orbital, Paul Oakenfold, Lemon Jelly, Sash!, Robert Miles, Eric Prydz, Alan Braxe, Kris Menace, Daft Punk.

Thats a little harsh, Lt-David derpends on what you want techno for. If your listening around the house with some friends the I agree with your choices. If your looking to DJ to a darkened room full of inebraited people you may want something a little harder and faster.

There is a lot of bad fast techno, and the genre has been getting a little stale recently but if you hunt around there are some real gems of synchopation and drumming. the french and english Acid techno scenes of the last five years have produced some amazing techno as well as a lot of sped up remixes overlaid.....etc. Like any music you have to sift through the crap to find the gems

Well your opinion of techno is a bit wrong anything that is 200BPM is pretty much SpeedCore! I know wat i recommended wasnt Techno but the topic starter himself didnt really have a clue what techno was so i was just giving him a new for recommendations which he may listen to and like!
