stardock makes me veery happy :D

and to those of you who don't use anything from stardock....well, you should give this a try...it's well worth it and you have nothing to loose since it's freeware and will remain that way. and with all the support it's gaining, it doesn't look like development on this app will end any time soon.

i like that they added the ability to keep it on the bottom but y'z dock has had the same feature for al ong time and even better, even though i have autohide off and the dock is behind all my windows all i have to do is move my mouse to the bottom of the screen and it jumps on top. it makes a world of a difference.

For some reason I cannot get shortpopup.exe to work right with objectdock. It keeps displaying the contents of my objectdock folder instead of the contents of my mp3 folder. Works perfectly fine with Yz dock

because you need to set the correct "working folder" and in objectdock you can't do that

i have a couple of gripes and suggestions for this dock...

1. there is no sys tray function, unless you have your taskbar showing and it covers up the dock

2. uses way too many CPU cycles!! 90% on a AthlonXP 1800+; a dock that i made in html and a direct x call uses 20%

3. one good suggestion would be the ability to dynamically change the position of the dock instead of just up, down, left and right

i know this is off topic, but is there a program out there that just shows the systray?

Anyone else having trouble getting this version to work? It won't work at all for me, just maxes out my CPU, the previous version was smooth. Gonna try a clean install, I upgraded the first time.

--edited A clean install fixed that, looks good now, I just gotta reconfigure it :D

Anyone have the problem that when you click on My computer, or shortcuts to folders, nothing happens. The icon bounces, but I have to click like 15 times in rapid succession to get the directory to open sometimes...

Had this problem with 0.75 too.

Anyone else?

i have that same problem...kind of annoying sometimes that you have to keep clicking for a folder to open up

I think this version is getting slightly worse.

They need to fix the above problems before adding more features.

Another issue : with window fx 2.0 and 2 users, after user 2 is logged on and fast user switching is enabled, the dock becomes transparent.

    • Since they open sourced the calculator in Win 10/11 it is much better and can do a lot, I love it.
    • That's just silly imo. The lengths that man goes to just to avoid W11 is just nuts. Very, very few home users would do that. I will say this though, he is committed. Btw, I note on askwoody that Woody Leonhard passed away March, 2025 aged 73. His site was one of my favorites back in the day. Belated yes but RIP Woody.
    • Because of the EU (a good thing) newer android devices been getting 5 years worth of security patches. Except some Motorola which found the loop hole, and offer ZERO updates. In addition, Google for years have been making where it can patch some stuff by updating the core Google Play Store itself.  As echoed earlier,  you take the security risk in to your own hand beyond supported.
