You have to open the script for that config and edit the url in the script. Change it to "http://beta.weather.com/search/search?where=" It seems weather.com keeps changing things around.

Small problem: The URL that you said to insert in the script, is the one that's already in the script.

Does anyone know the right URL?

I have the same problem as of today :)

No idea how to fix it though unfortunately.

Can i ask you what script, skin , whatever, you are using there, its much nicer than mine :)  Could you post a link to where I can get it?

Thanks,

Simon

here is my config, i found it a long time ago back when judge was first doing this layout of the weather and dont know the name of it because i edited it and added all the bottom parts, but here is the download

Judge fixed it. enjoy.

Also, is there a way to stop samurize from showing up more than once in the system tray? i know it's a part of the weather thingy, but it's getting annoying to have to mouse over the extra icons (i keep mine hidden) and it bulges out and ruins the rest of my taskbar :( Anyone have an idea how?

could someone tell me where to download Samurize. i got it before but didnt use for a quite long time and lost the website as well

now want to use again

oh thanks above

i got the site

www.samurize.com right?

Download Page

there is the link.. you are going to need a config file, mine is here there are many others, but you are going to need something to start with

No, judge's fix was for a change weather.com made about 2 weeks ago. It was nothing more than changing the URL. To fix it this time, you have to actually modify the vbs file code. There's a thread about it at the samurize.com forums. A user has posted the code that you need to insert into the file to get it working.

hi peepS

since im a newb can ya please tell me whats the best script out there which will tell me the weather, and show computer and network statistics on my desktop and how do i install samurize or what do i need to do, and how can i tweak it etc?

does samurize use alot of system resources!?

if you'd take a look, that's a link to the thread with the code. the code i think is on the third page...posted by gordep.

and naqi2k3, mine only used 2k of resources. dunno if that's small enough for you or what :p

but samurize is a pretty straightforward install, i've been using it for a week now and it's pretty easy. it's very easy to tweak, but i suggest that you find a script that someone has already made with some features that you would like, and use it for a while, playing and tweaking until you get the hang of it. If you'd like, you can PM me and i'll send you my config, it's got basically what you described.

I'm just glad I've made something that people really like (almost 5000 people downloaded version 1.0 off of deskmod, and altogether, through all the versions I've made, up through 3.1 and including a horizontal bar version, there have been more than 18000 downloads). Shame deskmod is down now : \

Well, it may be a bit biased, but I think mine tells everything the best. Seriously though, you either have to look around for one, or just make one yourself. You install samurize by downloading it and running the setup, and then you have to download a config and/or make your own. There is more info on Samurize.com. It isn't an easy thing to explain.

My config right now is using 5 MB of ram and 13 of swap. This is insignificant.

    • Microsoft about to radically change how often your Edge browser updates by Paul Hill Microsoft has just announced that starting with Edge 152, it will be moving to a two-week release cycle for faster, smaller updates. This faster release cadence will begin on August 27. This change comes just several months after Microsoft switched Visual Studio Code to weekly updates. The company said that the Extended Stable releases will remain on an eight-week cycle and that no admin changes are needed to experience the faster release cycle on the Stable channel. The new two-week release cycle will enable the faster delivery of security updates and platform improvements, all while reducing the size and complexity of individual updates. Microsoft claims that organizations will benefit from this change as it offers predictable validation cycles. For organizations that prefer a “more deliberate pace”, the Extended Stable channel remains an option. This change will affect Edge Stable releases on Windows, macOS, Linux, and mobile. The Extended Stable channel will continue to be updated every eight weeks, or every fourth Stable release, for example: versions 152, 156, 160, and 164. The Extended Stable could be a good option for organizations that don’t want the latest updates twice a month and don’t want as much hassle constantly updating browsers. In the case of Visual Studio Code, many of the updates being pushed by Microsoft are AI-related. As we all know, Microsoft Edge has a lot of AI features, so we could see Microsoft pushing more AI, thanks to the faster cycles. On the flip side, quicker releases could mean faster security updates, which is beneficial in a world where AI systems are hunting for software exploits. What do you think? Let us know in the comments. For more updates on Edge, be sure to follow Neowin's coverage. In May alone, we reported on Edge offering in-browser pop-ups to assist users with website compatibility issues, that Edge was losing Copilot Mode, and that Microsoft had fixed a plain-text password bug in Edge. It emphasizes privacy by blocking trackers, ads, and ensuring your data isn't collected. With Zen Mods, users can enhance their browser experience with various customization options, including features like split views and vertical tabs. The browser is designed for efficiency, providing fast browsing speeds and a lightweight interface. Zen Browser prioritizes user control over the browsing experience, offering a minimal yet powerful alternative to traditional web browsers while keeping your online activity private. Zen Browser’s DRM limitation Zen Browser currently lacks support for DRM-protected content, meaning streaming services like Netflix and HBO Max are inaccessible. This is due to the absence of a Widevine license, which requires significant costs and is financially unfeasible for the developer. Additionally, applying for this license would require Zen to be part of a larger company, similar to Mozilla or Brave. Therefore, DRM-protected media won't be supported in Zen Browser for the foreseeable future.
