Okay this is my first attempt of putting a skin on anything so don't laugh atlot at me. I am thinking about adding a network bar somewhere for my internal/external IP addresses, upload/download and network drive status.

Wow, that's a really impressive config... bit huge for my tests, but very nice job overall!

This is my first post but I've been hanging around neowin for quite a while. Decided to post my config since I'm kind of proud of it and all...

Give Stevofc credits. I also modified his sam script. Although I don't use it anymore as I find samurize and rainlendar uses too much system resources. Only things I still run is Y'z Dock and Y'z Toolbar. Click on DevianArt link at the bottom to get my script.

Yeah, the basic idea of it all was somewhat from his bar but I restarted from scratch. I do want to thank the creator of the GIMP icons as well.

I have taken my samurize skin that some of you saw earlier and have changed it greatly. I have added my network computers with pictures and network upload and download information. I also added a part that tells me the most recent post from the xoxide forums. Also by double clicking on the forum topic such as "case gallery" it will automatically open internet explorer and take me to the case gallery. Well here is the skin and comments are appreciated.

obs0lete ... Is there a prob with your config? Its been working fine for a week or two, and over the last few days it keeps screwing up with the weather part of things. I.E. when starting the weather part stays on NA and my system locks up until I close Samurize via the task manager. I have uninstalled and reinstalled samurize (as there was no way I could find of changing the config without it locking up) and found that my other configs are fine, but as soon as I reload your config it goes loopy again :( Any suggestions?

Hmm I'm not sure why it would do that. The only thing I can suggest when it happens is to delete your DesktopWeather30min.xml and DesktopWeather120min.xml files (they are in C:\Program Files\Samurize\Scripts) and then reload the config and hope for the best.

Had tried that already, no joy :( Out of curiosity I tried the original version from a while back which I had archved, and that works perfectly (apart from the icons not updating, even though there is a whole row of Samurize icons). It just seems to be the new version thats screwing up (I made sure I replaced the weatherscript from the older version to the new one when necessary)

Any other suggestions?

Problem sorted, apparantly a few people have been having similar problems with the weather script over the last few days (not you config obs0lete) and all is working fine again now. Maybe weather.com were messing about again :)

Anyhow, glad to say your config is now working again obs0lete ... Knew it wouldn't be your fault, as it had been working fine for ages before now :)

Thanks for the positive feedback! :)

I made some major revisions to my samurize...

:: Rev. 1.1 ::

New Updates:

- Added scrolling feature for long titles.

- Changed the position of the clock and added a "blinking" indicator for seconds. (1 blink per 2 seconds)

- Changed the size of the boarders and the relative position of objects to optimize the looks.

- Added PLAYING and PAUSED indicator.

- Other known bugs fixed.

Known problems: (These problems relate to the plugins)

- Radio broadcasting titles don't refresh unless you manually "reload" samurize.

- Scrolling screws up when the title is centered... that's why the title is not centered any more.

- I wasn't able to find a font named "small fonts" in my fonts folder. Not sure if its Windows XP default font.

It is only used on the network transfer, "IN" and "OUT," indicator.

Does anyone know how to correct these problems? ...especially titles for radio.

I've included all the possible fonts I could find that I used on this. Let me know if the fonts don't display properly...

    • The post-installation disk footprint hasn't changed much. In version 0.99.1, it was 979 MB. Now, it is 959 MB. That's just 2%. Also, PowerToys fills the disk with logs like crazy. Just look inside "\AppData\Local\Microsoft\PowerToys".
    • Yeah, right! /s They've been saying that for two centuries now. Look up "China's final warning" on Wikipedia.
    • I have not verified if any of the fixes mentioned on the below article actually work. Why Claude Code Eats All Your RAM (And How to Fix It) There are at least four separate things that can eat your RAM, and only one of them is your fault. The Four Culprits 1. Bloated Session Logs (The Silent Killer). For 2-4 and more inluding the suggested fixes, see link https://marceloretana.com/blog...aude-code-eats-all-your-ram
    • One of my PC's is Windows 11 Home Edition... and guess what? it supports Hyper-V Disks and Containers, as well as WSL2... which these desktop tools leverage on an as-needed basis. It does not need to be enabled system-wide; it merely needs to exist. Furthermore, I tried something yesterday with Hermes Desktop and their "installer" actually builds everything from source as part of its installer toolchain! The installer (and updater as it were) both go through a roughly 19-step process to prep the system for the tool to be used -- and connectivity to local/remote models, local/remote agent configs, and other steps are not included as part of this process (those are all user config steps post-install). ALSO, the "bug wasn't confirmed to exist" is the weakest argument against a bug. That's literally every flawed product's knee-jerk reaction! Even politicians, lawmakers, murderers, and other violent criminals start with that defense... "I deny everything I'm accused of." The bug is the (shared) experience. Whether it's truly Claude Code's fault, or user error, or some other software package being the ultimate culprit, is not the point. They are experiencing unpleasant side effects and don't like that.
