James Corden to star in 'Doctor Who'?

James Corden has landed a role in Doctor Who, according to tabloid reports.

The Sun says that the Gavin & Stacey star was spotted on a train learning lines for the show while en route to the set in Cardiff.

A show insider is quoted as saying: "We normally keep our guest stars under wraps but you can't hide a bloke like James.

"And now he's not coming to Wales for Gavin & Stacey anymore, it's pretty obvious why he is here. James loves coming to Wales. And it gives him a chance to meet up with Ruth Jones, who co-wrote Gavin and Stacey with him and starred as Nessa."

The source added: "We're just delighted to have James on board. He is a great actor and he'll be a perfect fit for the new Doctor Who."

This morning, show officials refused to confirm or deny the story, telling DS: "We do not comment on casting or storyline speculation."

Doubt its true, its from The Sun.

Good trailer by the way! :)

SFX194, on sale 10 March, is going to have a very special cover indeed ? a specially commissioned, eye-popping 3D image of Matt Smith as Doctor Who, Karen Gillan as Amy Pond and a couple of Weeping Angels lurking about the place too. The animated gif here gives you an idea what to expect (just click on it to see what we mean), but you really need to see the real thing in all its glory when it hits the shelves in a couple of weeks' time.

The cover was created with the full association of the Doctor Who production team. SFX's art team popped down to Cardiff last month to conduct the exclusive photoshoot, to create an exciting image you'll see nowhere else. The issue also includes a massive nine-page feature on the new series of Doctor Who, including all-new interviews with Matt, Karen and Steve Moffat.

We'd hoped that U.S. viewers would get the new series of Doctor Who within a day or so of the British airing, as happened with David Tennant's swansong. Alas, it's not to be. The Matt Smith episodes will air on BBC America starting April 17, or two weeks after the U.K.'s April 3 start date. We'll probably do what we did with Torchwood: "Children Of Earth", which had a similar delay ? a slight recap after the U.K. airing, followed by something more in-depth after the U.S. airing. But we'll see how it goes. The press release also includes a few spoilers:

Travelling both through time and space, the new series has the mysterious Doctor and Amy Pond together exploring sixteenth century Venice, France during the 1890s and the United Kingdom in the far future, now an entire nation floating in space. The first three episodes of the 13-episode series have been confirmed as The Eleventh Hour, written by Steven Moffat, The Beast Below, also by Moffat and Victory of the Daleks by Mark Gatiss.

More set reports, some of which Bluehinter mentioned in yesterday's comments. They're filming what's believed to be episode seven, in which a random gang of old people wander around a playground wielding walkers, umbrellas and various other things. Rory (Amy's fiance) is there, and some onlookers said Amy looks pregnant ? which could mean it's set in the future, or that it's some sort of alien pregnancy like what happened to Gwen on Torchwood. Another theory is that if it's true that one episode is called "The Lodger," that could refer to Amy's baby.

I don't mind the small delay. At least we don't have to wait a year or so like we did at one time.

'Sarah Jane' gets two-year renewal

Doctor Who spinoff The Sarah Jane Adventures has been recommissioned for two new series, it has been announced.

The fourth and fifth series will each run to 12 episodes, airing in Autumn 2010 and Autumn 2011 respectively.

Show creator and executive producer Russell T Davies, who left as showrunner on Doctor Who earlier this year, will remain in the role on both new series of SJA.

Nikki Wilson, producer on series three, has been promoted to executive producer, while Torchwood's Brian Minchin has joined the team as a producer.

"We are thrilled to be making many more episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures," said CBBC controller Damian Kavanagh. "It has been a huge ratings and critical success on CBBC and we hope our viewers are going to be hooked on Sarah Jane's action-packed adventures for some time to come."

The fourth series, which begins filming in Cardiff later this month, sees regulars Tommy Knight (Luke), Daniel Anthony (Clyde) and Anjli Mohindra (Rani) return alongside Elisabeth Sladen (Sarah Jane).

Adversaries in the new run of episodes include the Nightmare Man and the Shansheeth, while the gang will travel to an alien world for the first time and take a "dangerous journey back in history".

Series four writers include Phil Ford, Joseph Lidster, Rupert Laight, Gareth Roberts and Clayton Hickman.

"The Lodger" and is based on a DW comic strip where the

TARDIS materializes on Earth, kicks out the Doctor and dematerializes with the companion still inside. The TARDIS is somehow shunted forward about a week, leaving the Doctor to stay with someone on Earth while he waits for it to catch up. During this time, he hangs out with James Corden and plays a game of football, among other things!

    • Same Internet Archive seemed to grab the new version https://web.archive.org/web/20...d/Setup_MakeMKV_v1.18.4.exe Here's the link to an additional file it periodically downloads https://web.archive.org/web/20260213092148/https://www.makemkv.com/sdf.bin I think update's keys, etc. To manually trigger this update, put the sdf.bin file in the root of where the program is installed. When you launch the program it will pick up the file and import it. Typically put it here: C:\Program Files (x86)\MakeMKV\sdf.bin
    • Windows 11 KB5094126, KB5093998 bugging out Office apps but it may not be Microsoft's fault by Sayan Sen Microsoft last week released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. Although the tech giant did not acknowledge any major problems, some users online reported various issues ranging from OneDrive and Dropbox access problems, BitLocker recovery lockouts, to blue screens and BSODs. You can read about them in this dedicated piece. While there is still no confirmation about those problems from Microsoft the company has admitted to another bug which we did not report on. The tech giant has confirmed it has received reports of an issue in which certain third-party applications may be unable to launch Microsoft Office apps or open Office documents after installing the Patch Tuesday. This affects both Windows 11 as well as Windows 10. The company says the problem impacts a subset of applications that rely on OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) automation to communicate with Microsoft Office programs. According to Microsoft, affected scenarios involve third-party software attempting to open Office applications or documents from within their own interface. In such cases, the Office program may fail to launch altogether, or the requested document may not open. Oddly there may not be any error message, which probably makes the issue difficult to diagnose. The bug affects several Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other apps in the Microsoft Office suite when they are launched through the affected software. These include tax and accounting software such as CCH Engagement and Workpaper Manager, dental practice management solutions like Dentrix and Softdent, as well as the popular research and reference management tool Zotero. Microsoft adds that other applications using similar Office integration methods could also experience the same problematic behavior. To understand the issue it is important to look at OLE, the Microsoft technology involved. OLE allows different applications to work together and share data, while its Automation feature lets one program control another. Thus this enables third-party software to launch Microsoft Office apps, open documents, and perform tasks automatically without requiring users to switch between programs. Because many accounting, healthcare, research, and business applications rely on OLE automation to interact with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office apps, any disruption can break those workflows. As a result, affected software may be unable to open Office documents or launch Office applications even though the programs themselves continue to work normally. At the moment the company has not provided a permanent fix though it has confirmed that engineers are actively working on a resolution, which will be delivered through a future Windows update. As such additional details will be shared once more information becomes available. In the meantime, Microsoft recommends a simple workaround for affected users whic is to open the Office application or document directly rather than launching it through the third-party program. For enterprise customers and organizations managing larger deployments, Microsoft says an additional mitigation is available. Admins experiencing the problem on their managed devices are advised to contact Microsoft Support for business to obtain and apply the workaround.
