I've been thinking about this - you want my take on it? I think it shows the 8th incarnation of The Doctor, regenerating into the 9th.

Think about it - we never saw the regeneration. When the series 'restarted' with Eccleston, he'd not long regenerated. It was never specifcally spelled out, but lines the character says, lead weight to the theory that he'd only recently arrived 'in that form'

Given that it's a bit part of Doctor Who history, you'd think the BBC would want to show it.

Then there's Paul McGann.

Although Paul McGann continued to work after his stint as the Doctor, he was never in anytying 'high profile' - until 2010, when he appeared in the BBCs Jonathan Creek. He also appeared, as a main character in Luther - again, a BBC production. Over the years, McGann has appeared at Doctor Who conventions, occasionally dressed like 'his version' of the Doctor. Until about 18 months ago, when he started appearing like this:

All McGann has said on the sudden 're-design' [From what I can gather] is that the new 'look' had been put together with the 'approval' of the BBC. And that's not all - the BBC also worked with McGann, and Weta Studios, to re-design the 8th Doctors sonic screwdriver:

Interesting, No? Well how about this - BBC Seven have put together a 10 part Audio play, where McGann voices the 8th Doctor - that will address the period after events in the TV Movie - and how it'll lead into the character regenerating into the 9th Doctor.

Truth: It's likely that Moffat & Co. aren't planning on showing us the 8th incarnation of The Doctor - but it's always fun to theorise :)

An alternate version of the Doctor Who Series 6 trailer can currently be seen on BBC1. It is identical to the online one released yesterday, however there is one difference. In the online one, there is a scene of the TARDIS console exploding. While the alternate version sees that scene replaced with a close-up of the nasty looking alien in the suit. See it in the video below.

Thanks to online retailers, we have some juicy new details on Series 6 of Doctor Who. The following is the summary for the Series 6: Part 1 DVD, which contains the first seven episodes:
The Doctor returns, alongside newly weds Amy and Rory, to face monsters and mysteries and adventures all across time and space, in a thrilling new series of Doctor Who.

Together they?ll find themselves in sixties America, battling the invasion the world forgot, then journey on the high seas of 1696 aboard a pirate ship, to solve the mystery of the Siren. In a bubble universe at the very edge of reality, the Doctor will meet an old friend with a new face, and in a monastery on a remote island in the near future, an industrial accident will take on a terrible human shape. And waiting for them, at the end of all this, is the battle of Demon?s Run, and the Doctor?s darkest hour. Can even the truth about River Song save the Time Lord?s soul?

Only two things are certain. Silence will fall. And a good man is going to die?

The DVD and Blu-ray are to be released on 11th July, according to Amazon.

Tut tut Rappy.

Remember to link photos and spoiler tag possible anything written that is a possible spoiler, I want the choice of "accidentally" reading anything. :p

I didn't mention what episode so not to spoil which one!

New 'Doctor Who'

will be 'scariest yet'

Steven Moffat has claimed that the new series of Doctor Who will be scarier than the last run.

In an interview with the ABC TV Blog, the showrunner compared future episodes of the BBC drama to a "ghost train".

"Last year we reassured you [but] this year to hell with that - we're going to worry the hell out of you," he said. "[The monsters are] scary. Very scary.

"There's the Silence in [episodes] one and two, the Siren in episode three, the Gangers in five and six, [and] all these are more than just freaky costumes and masks. There are scary ideas here."

Moffat, who previously described opening episode 'The Impossible Astronaut' as "a belter", also revealed that the next seven episodes will have a stronger overall arc.

"Oh, there's a big story being told this year, and major mysteries from the very off," he confirmed. "We're barely ten minutes into episode one before our heroes face a dilemma that they'll be staring at months from now. And there will be no easy answers."

The new series of Doctor Who begins on April 23 on BBC One in the UK and BBC America in the US.

Sightings of the Silents or indications of their presence in Series 5:

The Eleventh Hour - While hanging from the TARDIS, the Doctor looks up into it and for a couple of seconds has a confused look on his face. Also, just how did Tennant's Sonic get in that room? Also, when Rory and Amy exit the elevator on the second floor of the hospital, Rory glances behind him at something, but when he looks back towards Amy, he shakes his head like he forgot something. It is about 42:49. In the scene at the end of the episode where Amy goes into the TARDIS for the first time. there's one point where she leans back on the console and is looking around the room. The camera is pointed towards her face, so we can't see what she's looking at. She looks around with a sort of awe-struck smile, but then her eyes linger over something and her expression turns into a look of horror. She starts breathing really quickly and turns as if to get the Doctor's attention, but as soon as she's facing him she just asks, perfectly normally, "Why me?", as if she'd completely forgotten about what she'd just seen. Also, she flicks a TARDIS button/switch/lever at this point. Accidental Amy or something meaningful?

The Beast Below - At around 9:25 a black figure walks past Amy, she looks confused/scared for a couple of seconds then shrugs it off.

Victory of the Daleks - Near the end after the Daleks escape, the Doctor moves slowly backwards, as he gets near to the green framed window/doorway he looks to his left with a shock. The camera then switches to Amy and Churchill who both stare to the Doctor's left with a look of shock before Amy continues on as normal with the line "Doctor, it's OK you did it, you stopped the bomb."

The Lodger - At 21:47 for a couple of shots Amy looks in the distance or at the screen and gasps, then shouts for the Doctor's attention but he doesn't listen. She looks away and shakes it off.

Vampires of Venice - At the end when Rory, Amy, and the Doctor are standing by the TARDIS, the TARDIS door is open and then shuts on it's own.

The Big Bang - There are cloaked figures behind the Sarcophagi in the museum; a third figure moves out of shot at the edge of the screen at about 13:31

    • Microsoft unveils new Surface Laptop with improved trackpad, Snapdragon X2, and more by Taras Buria Microsoft's new Surface Laptop Ultra generated a lot of buzz earlier this month, but in addition to its most powerful laptop with an NVIDIA chip, Microsoft also has a more affordable laptop lineup, which has been waiting for an update for quite a while. Today, Microsoft announced the eighth-generation Surface Laptop. The new Surface Laptop is powered by the Snapdragon X2 Plus and X2 Elite processors. These chips offer faster CPU performance, up to 58% faster graphics, and 80 TOPS Neural Processing Units (NPUs) for on-device AI processing. Like the previous models, these chips retain their great energy efficiency, and Microsoft says that buyers can expect up to 20 hours of work on a single charge. The laptop is available in two sizes: 13.8-inch and 15-inch. You will have a hard time finding visual differences between the new and previous models, as Microsoft is not taking any major design leaps, except for the new Jade color, which may look familiar to Surface Laptop 5 owners. Other colors include Platinum, Black, and Dune. The 15-inch variant got a higher-resolution display. It is a 3,270 x 2,180 resolution screen with a pixel density of 262 ppi (the 13-inch model has a 201 ppi density) and a maximum brightness of 600 nits SDR and HDR. Unlike the Surface Pro 12th-gen, which is available with optional OLED displays, the Surface Laptop sticks with IPS, a 1,300:1 contrast ratio, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 3:2 aspect ratio. Another notable change in the Surface Laptop 8 is its trackpad. It now provides haptic feedback when you perform various actions in apps and the operating system. It is a relatively new feature that Microsoft brought to Windows 11 in recent updates, and it is only available on certain devices, such as the Logitech MX Master 4, Surface Slim Pen 2, the upcoming Surface Laptop Ultra, and now the Surface Laptop 8. The new Surface Laptop with the new Surface Pro Like its tablet-shaped sibling, the new Surface Laptop is notably more expensive. It starts at a $1,599 for a 13.8-inch configuration with a 256GB SSD and 16GB of RAM. However, in the US, the base model has double the storage while keeping the same price. Available configurations include up to 64GB of memory and up to 2TB SSD (user-removable PCIe Gen4). The Surface Laptop 8 is now available for purchase on the official Microsoft website.
    • Microsoft announces 12th-gen Surface Pro with Snapdragon X2 processors by Taras Buria So far, 2026 has been rich in Surface announcements. Microsoft started with a fresh lineup of Surface for Business devices powered by Intel's new Core Ultra 300 processors. Then the company revealed the Surface Laptop Ultra, its most powerful laptop with NVIDIA's RTX Spark processor. Now, it is time for new Surface Pro and Surface Laptop models with Qualcomm processors. Microsoft's original Copilot+ PCs with Snapdragon X1 chips debuted in late May 2024. Two years later, Microsoft is finally updating the lineup with new models featuring Snapdragon X2 processors. The 12th-gen Surface Pro continues the well-established formula of Microsoft's flagship tablet, and Microsoft is not even changing colors, as the tablet will be available in three colors: Dune, Black, and Platinum. The most important changes are mostly hidden inside. Microsoft switched from the Snapdragon X1 to the new Snapdragon X2, which promises up to 53% faster graphics performance than the previous generation and up to 15.5 hours of battery life. The built-in NPU is also much more powerful, and it can run at up to 80 TOPS for on-device AI processing. Like before, the new Surface Pro is available with a 13-inch IPS display, and Microsoft is still offering OLED as a separate, more expensive configuration. Speaking of configurations, the Surface Pro will be available with a 10-core Snapdragon X2 Plus or a 12-core Snapdragon X2 Elite. Microsoft expanded the available RAM configurations to 64GB (previously 32GB was the maximum), while storage remains unchanged at 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of user-replaceable PCIe Gen4 SSDs. The new Surface Pro and the Surface Laptop Other specs remain mostly unchanged. The computer has the same 1440p Windows Hello webcam, two USB4 ports for charging, data, and display output, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 support, dual speakers, and compatibility with Surface Pro Signature and Flex keyboards. With that said, there is one very important aspect of the Surface Pro that changed significantly, and it is the price. While the previous-gen Surface Pro launched at $999 for the base configuration, in 2026, the entry-level Surface Pro with Snapdragon X2, 16GB of memory, and 256GB will set you back an eye-watering $1,499. To sweeten the pill, Microsoft is running a limited-time promotion where Surface Pro buyers can get a free Surface Pro 13-inch Keyboard. The promo runs from June 16 through June 30. The new Surface Pro is available now on the official Microsoft Store website.

    • They probably should have it where they can open other formats but only save in the open formats.
    • The next time you apply for a shift at Taco Bell or KFC, you may be interviewed, assessed, and onboarded by three AI agents named Maria, Daniel, and Claire — and those agents will continue scoring your behavior long after you clock in for the first time.................... For workers applying to or already employed at those chains, the implication is concrete: an AI system is assessing their conversational behavior over WhatsApp and phone calls, storing that behavioral data, and using it to inform decisions about whether they are hired, how they are onboarded, and whether they are flagged as a flight risk https://www.techtimes.com/articles/318390/20260615/ai-agents-now-score-taco-bell-kfc-workers-via-whatsapp-day-one.htm
