Jurassic Park 4 (Rumours and Discussion!)

[edit] Jurassic Park IV

In June 2002, director Steven Spielberg told Starlog magazine that he planned to produce Jurassic Park IV, and director Joe Johnston, who helmed Jurassic Park III, would direct it.[1] In November 2002, screenwriter William Monahan was hired to write,[2] with the film's release slated for summer 2005.[3] In July 2003, Monahan completed the first draft, with the story no longer set in the jungle.[4] Actor Sam Neill said he was returning as Dr. Alan Grant, with filming expected to begin in 2004 in California and Hawaii.[5] In September 2004, screenwriter John Sayles was re-writing the script, with the film re-slated for a winter 2005 release.[6] His second draft focused on the new character Nick Harris, who returns to Isla Nublar, the location of the first film, and retrieves Dennis Nedry's can of DNA. He is captured by the Grendel corporation, which now owns InGen, and he is hired to train five genetically modified Deinonychus as mercenaries.[7]

In October 2004, paleontologist Jack Horner said he would return as technical adviser for the fourth film as he had done for previous Jurassic Park films.[8] By April 2005, special effects artist Stan Winston explained that the delay in production was due to repeated revisions of the film's script, none of which satisfied Spielberg. According to Winston, "He felt neither of [the drafts] balanced the science and adventure elements effectively. It's a tough compromise to reach, as too much science will make the movie too talky, but too much adventure will make it seem hollow."[9] In February 2006, producer Frank Marshall said the script was done, and filming would begin in 2007 for a 2008 release.[10] In March 2007, Sam Neill said he was not asked to reprise his role as Dr. Alan Grant,[11] while Laura Dern was asked to return for the new film, which Universal still wanted to release by 2008.[12] Director Joe Johnston was also reported not to be directing the film.[13]

Dinosaurs with weapons on their backs... I'm sure that was a cartoon or somethig way back, or maybe an arcade game or both.

Steven Spielberg has been quoted as saying that they had the "mother of all ideas" for this sequel, and that if theyd come up with it earlier, this would have been the third film.

Dino-Riders I believe.

According to ComingSoon.net, Johnston will be directing: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=16814. Of course that was Oct. 2006, so things might have changed, but there's so much contradicting information out there about this film I'm refusing to believe that this movie even exists.

If this movie is made and that storyline is really used, I'm calling for a boycott on anything that the director ever makes again, that the screenplay writer ever makes again and most certainly anything that has Steven "the idiot" Spielberg attached to it. This franchise will go down as the most ridiculous ever and it really gives Michael Crichton a bad name!

I just went to Universal Pictures website and see nothing for this film <-- edited in the Future Releases slated of 08. Of course that doesn't mean much...

However I see "The Incredible Hulk" set for June 18th 08

So what you're basically saying is that if you're 10, you will absolutely like the movie... :shifty:  ?

I'm sorry, but calling Steven Spielberg those kind of names really makes you look more an idiot than what he allegedly is... With all good films he produced during the years, I think it's fair enough if he does a couple odd ones in between.

It wasn't long ago since his last few master pieces came out; Letters from Iwo Jima and Flags of Our Fathers.

And I'm certain Transformers: the movie will satisfy quite a few people out there...

I seriously loose respect for a "forum moderator" when he utters absurd things like those above!

    • Password Safe 3.72.0 by Razvan Serea Password Safe is a password database utility. Like many other such products, commercial and otherwise, it stores your passwords in an encrypted file, allowing you to remember only one password (the "safe combination"), instead of all the username/password combinations that you use. Once stored, your user names and passwords are just a few clicks away. Using Password Safe you can organize your passwords using your own customizable references—for example, by user ID, category, web site, or location. You can choose to store all your passwords in a single encrypted master password list (an encrypted password database), or use multiple databases to further organize your passwords (work and home, for example). And with its intuitive interface you will be up and running in minutes. PasswordSafe was originally designed by the renowned security technologist Bruce Schneier and released as a free utility application. Password Safe 3.72.0 changelog: Fixed bugs Improved font scale handling - should resolve font size issues on high resolution displays. • I've got a SoundBlasterX G6 that I use in my streaming setup. Sounds great to me and I've had zero issues with the ancient software package so far in Win11. That G6 has 7.1, Dolby, fully working SPDIF and since it's a USB device it's outside of my rig so I don't have to worry about EMF distortion. Looks like for now this is a pass for me as I think I have better hardware....
    • How do you connect 5.1 Speakers to this thing?
    • I agree with both of you... It's absolutely imperative that science is completely based on actual proven facts and hard evidence and is not considered dogmatic in any way. Science is not a religion and it will never be, and that's exactly how it's supposed to be.
