"Neill was asked to play the role of Elrond in The Lord of the Rings by Peter Jackson, but turned it down because of his contractual obligations to another film, namely, Jurassic Park III (2001)."-Wikipedia ...sheeeeeeeeet....thats just unlucky :(

God, dinos with guns. I thought Spielberg was going to either direct this one again or produce it? How the HELL could he let this script go into prodcution? Unless its got some uber sweet action scenes or its hella gory, I don't see how he'd even be attached to something like that :|

Originally Spielberg was going to use bits of books 1 and 2 that didn't make it into the first two movies to make the 4th, where dinos were rampaging through major cities around the world etc, now THAT would be cool.

Seeing little kids getting eaten up by T-Rex's = Priceless (sorry, I know that's horrible sounding, but it makes for great summer popcorn movie!)

How low can you go?

It's time to rethink the script then :D

What about T-Rex runs for election in 2008 and gets in...

Richard Attenborough could be tempted back onto the big screen if Steven Spielberg comes up with a strong script for Jurassic Park 4, he has signalled.

As he prepared for the world premiere of his latest movie, Closing The Ring, the acclaimed director revealed he'd return to acting if the script for another Jurassic Park sequel was right.

"If Steven suddenly said he was going to do Jurassic Park 4, I'd be there," Lord Attenborough said.

"As long as the part is not too big, with too many lines, I might be tempted back.

"I must say I adore what I am doing. I think the Lord God has been very gracious to me and has enabled me to do the very thing I have always wanted to do, so I wouldn't wish to change."

Lord Attenborough appeared in two films in the Jurassic Park trilogy, directed by the Hollywood filmmaker.

While he initially found fame as an actor, in recent decades he's carved out a strong reputation as a director.

Closing The Ring was shot in Belfast and Toronto last year, with a cast that includes Shirley MacLaine, Mischa Barton and Pete Postlethwaite.

It tells the story of an American woman (Barton), who loses the love of her life during the Second World War when his bomber crashes on the Belfast hills.

Five decades later, the woman, played by Shirley MacLaine, travels to Belfast to be reunited with the ring her lover was carrying.

Closing The Ring has its world premiere in Belfast tonight (Thursday).

I wish they'd just leave this alone. Jurassic Park died with 3 IMO and they should just leave it alone. But I'm sure there's plenty of people excited about it and I'll most likely be in theaters to see it if it ever does come out.

Yeah I would watch it purely because I like the franchise but not because its gonna be good.

I agree, to many movies either carry on - American Pie or start again like Jurassic Park :(, one that I wouldn't mind happening if it's true is Star Wars

Jurassic Park 5 : Raptor House :shifty:

No, The actual synopsis on the first post says that the movie is going to be about dinosaurs with guns. If you remember the clone wars in star wars, I believe there was animals with weapons and so on. Sounds like another stupid JP continuation!

I'm really disappointed with the direction of this entire franchise. If you read the two novels, then you will have a better understanding of where I'm coming from. No wonder Michael Crichton won't continue the series and did not have much control over the movies past the first. Directors/Producers/Movie studios in general should take a page out of the Harry Potter series of movies and let the author have final say over how their novel is transitioned into a movie.

Hollywood sequels suck.

Yep, that's basically the whole story. And yes, Hollywood sequels do suck. The main Hollywood should stay away from is video games. Hitman, Dead or Alive, Silent Hill, House of the Dead, they're all good games, but the movies suck.

    • Free Software Foundation Europe pushes EU to force Google to allow AI uninstalls on Android by Paul Hill Credit: Pexels Users should be able to fully uninstall AI-based features from Android devices and be able to access interoperability functions, free from Google’s verification requirements, the European Commission has heard as part of an Android interoperability consultation under the Digital Markets Act. These measures were proposed by the Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE) last week when it submitted its documentation. The FSFE noted that Google had started silently installing AI models without telling users. It noted that the EU’s DMA requires companies like Google to allow users to uninstall pre-loaded software from their devices, but in the case of the AI models Google is installing, they reinstall if you delete them, contravening the DMA. To get Google back under control, the FSFE has told the European Commission that there needs to be improvements within the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). First, it said that users should be able to fully remove pre-loaded AI components from their devices, with companies being prohibited from silently reinstalling or reactivating them. Second, access to Android interoperability features should not be contingent on registration, authorization, or contractual relationships with Google. This pertains to Google’s attempt to force developers to register with Google, even to publish apps to alternative app stores like F-Droid. Discussing its submission, Lucas Lasota, FSFE Legal Programme Manager, said: Google is planning to roll out its Android Developer Certification in September 2026. This will force every Android app developer to register with Google before their software can be installed on certified Android devices, but it should affect those who have removed Google Apps from their device. The program is controversial because it entails the signing of contracts and payment of account fees to Google, as well as the handing over of the identities of developers. It said: The FSFE said that if the Commission’s draft measures remain unchanged, then Google will be allowed to make developers verify their identity. The FSFE believes that asking developers to register is contrary to the text and spirit of the law. In summary, the FSFE has told the Commission that no developer should need a Google account, a Play Store presence, or any agreement with Google to access Android’s interoperability features.
