I get this error:

Serverfeil

Vi beklager, men Gmail er midlertidig utilgjengelig. Vi arbeider n? for ? l?se problemet. Pr?v ? logge deg p? kontoen din om noen minutter.

I thought it meant something about a temporary error, but it comes up all the time.

Any ideas?

What does it mean?

ALso, did you try signing in at www.googlemail.com instead of www.gmail.com? I don't know that would make any difference, but it is worth a try.

Here's a (very poor) online translation :p

Serverfeil

We am sorry , but Gmail am interim inaccessible. We works now to absolve difficulty. Pr?v to logge you at account din about a few minutes.

And nope, that still returns the same error:((:ss

Well, the only other thing I can think of is to try to go to

http://www.google.com/ig

That is a roundabout way (the iGoogle page) to get at your gmail if, for instance, gmail itself is blocked. I read this somewhere on Neowin so it must be true ;)

Beklage = deplore, lament

Gmail = Gmail

Er = is,am

utilgjengelig = Inaccessible

arbeider probably translates to foreign

n? = at present, now

for=for

? = stream

l?se i'm guessing means broken.

problemet = problem

logge could be login

deg = you

p? = on, upon, in

kontoen is probably account

din = you, yours

om = about, if, in

noen f? = a few

minutter = minutes

Put it all together you get something like:

Sadly that Gmail is inaccessible. The remote site is broken at present. Try to log in again in a few minutes.

Thanks Z3r0 :)

I get this on the little widget thing:

Information is temporarily unavailable.

Sounds stupid but have you tried https://mail.google.com/mail/

Have you got a trusted friend or a different computer within the house to check that it's not just your computer that's at fault. Sounds like basic stuff, but you'd be suprised!

Tried that, same thing. I've even done that trick with adding them to the trusted sites list and all that.

I have a computer at another house nearby I could use, but I'm leaving Norway today and don't think there's enough time for me to go over there and try...

Well, I'm home now :) Before I left, I got to try it on a Windows Mobile in Oslo and got the same error. Now that I'm back, I tried it again and got this:

Temporary Error (502)

We?re sorry, but your Google Mail account is currently experiencing errors. You won?t be able to log in while these errors last, but don?t worry, your account data and messages are safe. Our engineers are working to resolve this issue.

Please try logging in to your account again in a few minutes.

So we've narrowed it down that it's got nothing to do with Norway and it's to do wi:p me :p It actually came up with that error in Norway whilst I was signing up, maybe that has something to do with it? I can get into Google Accounts all fine, it's just Mail that's the :/sue :/
