i nominate Iben - anyone who's seen his wallpapers knows what a perfect matchup it would be.

Thank you very much for the recommendation! :)

Not enough love in this thread for a beautiful theme, by the way it's Richard off of Deviant Art oddbasket =p

Rich.

Thanks a lot, Rich! :)

I don't worry about it, I messed up with an ugly over cluttered screenshot 1st time round so the response is to be expected. Screenshot=Initial reaction, so I've learnt. :)

I guess we both hav diferent tastes then, cause to tell the truth it looks like its just stole the taskbar bar etc frm a standard Vista theme......which we hav loads of then added these badly photoshopped buttons!

I think it is perfect for what it has so far. Could you add some glowing min/max/exit buttons since some ppl using my machine are n00bs and havent a clue where each button is. The start button would be better if it said begin or start and it would be perfect for my taste and also if it was ported to windowblinds.

oops.. you must have really not tried the vs then, to say it's identical to the flat angled, centered 2 toned taskbar and depthless buttons of Vista. but that's ok, I already have many of such posts in this thread.

Thank you very much! :) Rich, was suggesting the same thing on the buttons, so I may get around to doing that hopefully. :)

i guess what people are trying to say is it's good but it looks a bit bold and has too much of the "photoshop effect" if you wanna describe it that way, it's nothing nagtive but it just gives that aura of just throwing together basic photoshop effects on top of each other and they gives that kinda chunky effect.

Did you ever actually use it? It is quite useable and good looking in its latest incarnation. The only thing I don't like is the toolbar background which looks crap in Firefox.

its ok..i wouldnt use it but its decent.

i needs some smoothing out/blending.

also, the theme that won 2k... i think its hideous, and its kinda stupid that the 1st place winner was horrible mac ripoff theme

not saying mac theme is horrible, it was a horrible rip of the mac theme.

I don't use firefox so I apologise if it doesn't work properly in it, it's very usable in all other applications I use though. Thanks.

it's not my cup of tea so i haven't i was just giving and insight on why people are probably calling it ugly.

I was looking forward to some new feedback on the new version but it's my bad for continuing this thread, so I can understand why you're running with the old comments, though the previous theme and this may as well be 2 different themes. I agree the previous one needed improvements. Don't worry though, I'm not so much bothered about people not liking it, I'm just looking for areas to improve, but sadly little constructive advice have been offered in this forum. Thanks.

as in every graphic looking like a smooth curve? ok, that's a thought, thanks, but that would be a design preference. maybe in another attempt I will do more smooth gradients for that rounded look.

look i have a stalker WOOT !

I take it you have some kind of reputation here I do not know about(?) *confused*

I think at that time, most people are still fooling around with Vista theming, (I didn't know how to change half of the appearance in Vista, even now most vista themes are still too vista-y) so I guess the 1st half decent theme wins, which was the mac. They must have had like a thousand Vista themes in some other color submitted, so I guess anything with the slightest originality caught the judges attention. For the record, I didn't think my theme would get anywhere as it was last minute decision to try my hand at vista theming. I can only take the blame for my own sloppy effort 3 days before the deadline. I apologise then, if you think it's required of me. Sorry.

Dude, why are you apologising? It's always easier for those sitting on the bench to go, "I could have hit that homerun!" They don't know sh|t.

I tried your theme, and it's technically faultless. The user interface integrates itself into all my programs seamlessly which not all themes can be said for.

I don't go for black themes though, but your windows explorer and shellstyle are amazing.

I don't really believe there are necessarily objective aesthetics wih things like this but that just doesn't do it for me. The red looks washed out and the black is just too dark to be usable. As others have said, you have the know how but you need someone with an artistic flare to guide you, for now at least.

    • Weekend PC Game Deals: Anno 117, Final Fantasy VII, Rematch, and more by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Weekend PC Game Deals is where the hottest gaming deals from all over the internet are gathered into one place every week for your consumption. So kick back, relax, and hold on to your wallets. The Epic Games Store's mystery giveaways may have ended, but its regular freebies didn't miss a step this week. The double drop was for copies of Warhammer 40K Speed Freeks and The Ouroboros King. Speed Freeks lands for multiplayer racing fans, but with plenty of competitive shooting elements too. You will be piloting Ork buggies, tanks, and aircraft modeled after the popular tabletop miniatures while trying to complete objectives and pass finish lines. Next, Ouroboros King is a crossover between chess and tactical roguelikes, offering the chance to create your own army with special rules to beat incoming foes on the board. The double giveaway on the Epic Games Store will be available until June 11, and replacing it will be Citizen Sleeper and ROBOBEAT. The Humble Store brought a new charity bundle to check out this week too. This begins with Heaven's Vault, four parts from the Sorcery series, 80 Days, Overboard, and Pendragon: Narrative Tactics within the starting tier for $9. Hopping up a step to the $12 tier gets you TR-49, Expelled, and A Highland Song for paying at least $12. If you go for the $20 tier, you get four e-books from the Heaven's Vault series. • When will the Photos app be updated to remember the window size and position when reopened? They addressed this issue in a 2024 version of the app (though I can't recall the build number). Unfortunately, after that specific version, the problem persists! Please prioritise this fix in your K2 schedule. Additionally, the Snipping Tool has lost the ability to capture the Windows Taskbar starting from the 2024 version!
    • Same, never saw it on Android or iOS. Guess only some people got it *shrugs*
