Installed xp pro sp2 on my laptop then install autopatcher august 2007 x86 eng core files then i installed the July extras. Everything installed fine however when i check Delete New Windows xp wallpapers and it updates my system. After restarting my system, i notice those wallpapers are still there and it also removed the old win9x wallpapers like what i want. However its not removing the xp wallpapers. Anyone has an idea of whats preventing those wallpapers from deleting?

Go to the XP Directory and then to the Web directory in there.

Um, say what? Did you read my post AT ALL?

I check the C:\WINDOWS\system32 and the C:\WINDOWS\ folder for the wallpapers in which i cant find them. Windows search says the same thing so they must be gone yet windows can still display those wallpapers

It might be a locked folder, not too sure though.

what do you want to remove them anyways. its not like they are taking any space.

Its only a 40gb hard drive on this laptop and i figure that if i can remove all of them i can free up about 1-3ish mb or so. After all, every byte counts when you are trying to free up space ;)

If your that hard up for space i suggest getting a new drive and cloning it. 80gig Laptop Drives are pretty cheap now even 7200rpm just be warry of heat issues in some laptops with the 7200s though. If you want a quick way to find files that are not needed or just taking up space i suggest using ccleaner. Which does a pretty good job of finding temp files that are no longer needed. • Onwards to Windows 12 then lol.
    • There is a long thread (128pgs and counting) that I've been following over at ElevenForums that has a method for updating Secure Boot even if there is no BIOS upgrade. I've used this method and had zero issues. NOTE:  I do not take any responsibility if this or any other Secure Boot method bricks your system -- YMMV!  Read carefully before using!
    • Yes, yes, YES, thank you AMD. Now display audio, night light, cleartype, etc, all work again.
