I just heard that AP project was shutdown by Microsoft, actually i read it in the nacional newspapers as an example of outrage that is allowed to happen in world by big companies.

I was afk about 3 months, just after following trough efforts of Antonis and other AP team members on revisioning AP code, and seeing trough all the hard work and time they've put into this Project, and making it better. I kind of havent had time to visit AP forum, but would sing high praises to anyone intrested in System building and integration about AP project and its potencial, and esspecially about its creator and team members, and defending it versus the infamous OPK tools.

Imagine my astonishment to read such a news in newspapers... I thought it was surely some sort of joke. I think , if someone told me that the 3rd World War has started, i wouldnt be astonished as much as when i found out that information from the newspaper was true.

Aside from the APPOLING behaviour of the Microsoft corporation, which is being proven time and time again.

I am suprised to come here to Neowin, just to find that AP forum was disabled asap!

It seems that a threat of a law suit is enough in Western democracy, you dont acctually have to sue anyone - you just threaten him... it doesnt matter if Microsoft has legal grounds to win in court, he just has to send a letter with demands.

I guess that sometimes unprofessional journalism doesnt look better, cause i dont know a single pro journalist or forum that would take this kind of behaviour from Microsoft, and whats worse, comply with it. It seems that bending over is easier then taking the heat. You could learn a lot from a few ordinary swedish guys running the piratesbay tracker.

I propose opening "AP Project" topic, where all the info about this project would be written into until its eventual restoration, because writing about it is not the infrigment of copyright or intelectual property rights of Microsoft by any nacional law or internantional accord. But if this forum admins or owners, in its wisdom still object to this, i propose moving to some other forum, that is not some much afraid of, just a prospect of law suit.

I wish all the best, and give my full support to AP team, and especially Antonis, what ever they decide to do next.

Antonis has already coded a tool that downloads the hotfixes from MS' site... still in beta (alpha?) but:

But Autopatcher has a rather sophisticated module system that I have yet to see effectivly replaced.
