Hey, don't worry. I just want to give my unbiased input before fanboys start cursing you off.

First off, you need to think of why you want to switch. I use Firefox because of extension support. If it didn't have that feature, then I would throw it away and use IE7.

Aesthetics should not be the reason why you should switch. You can customize that on any browser with the plug ins. Switch whenever you want since it really won't make much of a difference. It's up to you what you really want from a browser. Aesthetics and accessing sites is the most basic feature of any browser. The only difference is ease of use and functionality.

I use Firefox because it's not part of the operating system, therefore it's harder for spyware/malware etc to install itself, not sure if it happens much now but when i was using IE back in 99 - 03 it used too. If you're worried about upgrading you can use the upgrade function in the Help menu of Firefox :)

There are many vulnerabilities for IE7 (well not MANY, but some) and IE7 can also be somewhat unstable. IE7 also uses up system resources ALOT (well that was from experience, it would use around 800mb RAM, and 80% CPU when ever i used it.) However firefox is small, and smooth to use. Firefox also uses optimized code, and runs fast.

Firefox for the extensions. Otherwise I'd use Opera.

Adblock Plus, Downthemall, DragDropUpload, Foxmarks, Google Browser Sync, No Script, Tab Mix Plus.

Of course, Everyine knows that. Firefox is ONLY popular cuz of the addons. heck, I would probably be using opera if it was not for that

That it is completely true for me...I wouldn't touch Firefox if not for the extensions. Opera is still my favorite tho, find myself using it more than the others combined. ...altho I am using Firefox posting this so I think I'm just confused.

whats so much to think about

FF --> can import all your bookmarks + settings from IE

FF--> is safer, more secure, more customizable and generally more matured

Get your facts straight. Firefox hasn't had an edge over IE or Opera in security for more than a year. Look up Secunia's website and you'll see. And keep in mind that the browser with least advicories probably changes from month to month, but IE is nowhere near being the constant underdog it used to be back in the IE 6 days.

To the OP: Do you ever feel that you click more than you'd want to while browsing? If yes, give Firefox a try (with its addons, obviously). If not, there's no real need to switch since ease of use should be your primary concern. Also keep in mind that such a thing as IE7Pro exists: http://www.ie7pro.com/. It should do what most of the popular Firefox addons do, only for IE.

Thats the truth and rarely gets mentioned

Excellent advice, I wouldn't use IE7 without it

haha, ok man, calm down...breathe...... i know you fanboys gets angry but please, im just expressing my opinion

''more secure'' in the sense its less vunerable to internet malware compared to IE + generally more secure.

and where are you getting the Opera part from? ---- i never even mentioned that, or is that just an extension (pun so intended..haha) to your rant?

anyway, IE7 pro doesnt overall ''majorly'' improve on IE , its just doing what MS fails to do all along.

chill out homie :D

Ok, Im gonna help you out here: pointing out a fact about something is not being a fanboy, ignoring inconvenient facts and conveniently leaving them out is being a fan boy, thats what fanboys do and thats what you did. And then the trifecta:they reply by calling the person stating a fact a fanboy..a fanboy of what? Facts? Just for future reference...I see this all the time.

Thank you, I wasn't really going to bother with replying again myself.
