MYSQL BAckup

i have the invision board forum in my web site, but i want to make a db backup.. so i try to use phpmyadmin and the mysql managment buitlt in the IBF and both of them doesnt work.. my db is very large and i think is a problem of time out... so i erote the server hosting and they told me that i can solve that with a cgi script but i dont know what to do.

Could you help me to find a solution

I have a similar problem so Im working on my own backup solution running under .Net , I suppose I could release the code when im done :p

i use "mysql front" for controlling all my databases, makes good backups and has alot of nice export and import tools.

yea , but what I want is scheduled backups that I can leave running on my win2k server when the database itself runs on my Linux server..

if you can do cron's on your system, simply setup something like this:

0 1 * * * mysqldump -u name -ppwd -h localhost db_name > /path/db.sql
