NTBACKUP wont backup

Backup Runner finished.

IVe researched the error and it points at SQL database errors which we dont have (only simple desktop database).

We have 1.7gb spare on the C drive, and nothing has changed since we started getting this error 3 days ago, although i did attempt to install wsus 3.0 but it failed because of not enough space on the C drive and rolled back the installation.

Theres no mention of wsus anywhere so im confident it shouldnt be this program.

ive re-started all the VSS services / com files but to no avail.

Does anyone have any ideas?

think its something to do with the databasing. I can do a normal backup if i dont select system state, but get the above message if i select system state :-s
