HUGE Lost news?! (spoilers?)

Recommended Posts

OK, so I'm watching NBC's "Chuck" right now, and, if you don't know the premise, it involves a geek who gets tons of government secrets downloaded into his head. Anyway, the most recent scene had him viewing images that triggered certain portions of the government data, and one of the things he spouted was:

"Oceanic flight 815 shot down by..."

Now, this is more than likely just an amusing nod to "Lost" by the writers of "Chuck," but what if it's not? What if the people behind "Lost" thought it'd be interesting to team up with the "Chuck" people and put a little bit of information about "Lost" into "Chuck"? The creators of "Lost" are known for all sorts of weird ARG-type things, so maybe this actually means something?

What do y'all think?

That's weird. Chuck is NBC isn't it? Why would NBC, a competing network, advertise for ABC? Huh, that's odd.

You say that but not in the same league I know but Heroes had a little joke about Lost last season so they can trade stuff I would imagine given the right permission.

Not only is this not HUGE Lost news, it most likely not any kind of Lost news.

Maybe the show creators just like Lost and wanted to reference it in some way. Or maybe they don't like it as having the plane shot down would be a pretty unoriginal plot development for Lost. Maybe it has nothing to even do with Lost, Oceanic has been used in a few movies and TV shows.

What surprises me is that people still care about Lost.. especially when there are shows like Heroes on TV..

Maybe because its a good tv show and that ive invested myself into watching 3 seasons of it, im not gonna give up because someone like you doesnt think its good.

1st episode of Heroes s2 was crap.

the first episode of seson 2 wasnt great, the second one on the other hand is much better. althuogh the whole claire story is still stupid but anyway. yeah they use oceanic airlines in loads of tv shows its just the generic name they use. i dont know why.

LOL didnt notice this thread...

but yea after checking it out, it appears Oceanic airlines is used in a lot of shows: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oceanic_Airlines

Executive Decision: Oceanic Flight 343 from Athens to Washington, DC was hijacked by terrorists.

Code 11-14: an FBI agent searches for a killer aboard Oceanic Airlines flight 816 bound for Los Angeles from Sydney.

Lost: The show revolves around the aftermath of the crash of Oceanic Flight 815 from Sydney to Los Angeles. The producers of Lost also created a website for the fictional airline, including clues and references to the show's mystery.

Alias: Oceanic's flight to Sydney is briefly mentioned in an announcement at LAX, when the show's main character Sydney Bristow is there. Alias and Lost were both created by J.J. Abrams.

LAX: Advertisements and computers in terminals in LAX feature the Oceanic Airlines name in the episode Senator's Daughter.

Chuck: In the episode Chuck Versus the Helicopter, Chuck mentions "Oceanic Flight 815 was shot down by surface-to-air missiles" when a string of secrets stored in his mind are tapped ? a completely different plot than what is believed to have happened on the ABC series Lost.
