I can't remember... Though I have a feeling it may have been through the Tommy Tallarico message boards in 04 or 05. There was a mod there named aNDREW (Not sure if it's the same Andrew from here...) who made a sticky about the best free tech tools / guides etc. Possibly Neowin was on that list.

One of the first things I did here was post a thread about a bully from school possibly hacking me because he had my IP. I was 14 or 15 at the time and I knew basically nothing about computers. All of the members started lol'ing and saying "Him having your IP is the same as saying he has your home address." ... He really was port scanning me or something, though...

Then somehow the guy followed me here to Neowin and we started arguing in the thread, and then John locked it and sent me a PM. I felt like an idiot. And that is when I technologically matured... :p

... and as a side-note, that same bully and I are now friends. Neither of us can even remember why we hated each other to begin with.

Ahh... good times.

Now that you mention tech tools/guides, I remember now. I use to use Neowin back in the old days of XP, following some of the guides it had up on the forums on tweaking services and other XP things. Found it through google while searching for XP tweaks and what not and bookmarked it.

I eventually registered but rarely posted back then (I think around a year or so after I registered I had like less than 10 posts), then I got into overclocking and what not and started posting much more often.

FCKGW... Good old days :D

****ing windows.

i found it then too, unfortunately i lost my password and email so was unable to recover my original neowin account so I had to make a new (this one) a few years later. :(

Can barely remember. I think i was searching for something and found this place. Was a lurker for quite some time and decided that i like the forum so much i decided to subscribe.

As you can see i still don't post all that much but wanted to give my support.

I found Neowin from a Google search. I was originally just looking for a Vindictus access key. Which I found from this site. If anyone is ever interested just go to this link

https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/937750-official-vindictus/

And you can ask Bei337 for an access key.

But ya After registering to Neowin I decided to use my time by surfing the site and am actually so far enjoying the site.

Found it through http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-change-windows-7-logon-screen-easily-without-using-hacks-tools/ -> someone posted a link to a utility. Registered to download, but having trouble getting it working :/ Maybe I need to have 1 post to download? test...

    • AI Labs and specially it's investors, might be super happy to see that government it's impeding them to sell their own stuff worldwide and make more money.
