[.nanorc] Syntax Highlighting Color Limitation

According the nanorc man, legal colors for foreground and background color are: white, black, red, blue, green, yellow, magenta, and cyan. You may use the prefix "bright" to force a stronger color highlight for the foreground. If your terminal supports transparency, not specifying a bgcolor tells nano to attempt to use a transparent background.

So, there's no way to use other colors rather than white, black, red, blue, green, yellow, magenta, and cyan? Other colours under the X11 color names, or something?

I say we start a nano vs. vi vs. emacs debate right now!!! :p

I typically use nano for quickly editing or viewing a file. If you are looking for something like advanced syntax highlighting, then vi would be an excellent choice for you.

Now, now... we all know that nano/gedit would win... because they're simple. And that's why I hate emacs and vi. You need a PhD to configure/use that ****!
