Wow truly hollywood has reached the end of history hasnt it?

Nothing but an endless barage of poor sequels, one after the other, or movies of every new comic book or harry potter wanna be script to come about...

Yeah I know if I dont like it dont go see it....and thats all well and good but it will never end will it? The only way this series will end is if they run out of creative ways to kill people or the law of averages plays out and they finally make another one as good as number 1 and end it on a high note...

Seriously, if the movies are profitable, then why should they stop making them? I want more of the story, so I don't mind more sequels. If you don't like the films, then don't watch them, no one is forcing you to see them.

Very True. For an example, Transformers was a huge hit. I doubt Paramount and Dreamworks will stop making the series. If there's money there to be made, they will make it, especially with a fan base.

Not sure but it could after all its Hollywood.

I couldn't have said it better myself lol.

Ending Already Written for Saw V

The biggest thrills of the Saw movies are their surprise endings, which seem to keep audiences guessing even more than M. Night Shyamalan's latest creations. That's why the producers of the Saw sequels are starting there and working backwards.

"We just basically locked down the ending about a month ago so it's working off of what happens from there," said Oren Koules. "There's nothing guaranteed. It's really Mark [burg] and I looking at each other and saying, 'Okay, this story works, let's go.' When it doesn't, we won't go. We'll miss a year, we'll miss two years. It's two things: If we have a story that works and the fans want to see it. It's such a simple equation. Right now we're working on some things on V. There's nothing definitive."

Burg may even have plans to make Saw V and VI at the same time, though coming up with two shocking, surprising scripts for one epic shoot may not be possible (especially now with the WGA in full effect). This plan also hinted at which characters from Saw IV might become the focus of a Saw V.

"It was an idea of ours to try and keep the cast together because it's really difficult with Scott [Patterson] doing a TV series and other people doing other shows that we're going to try to. I'd say it's not out of the question but it's going to be really hard for us to get the screenplay to Saw VI where we want it to be to be able to do it."

If Saw V does go ahead, it looks like Jigsaw will remain a factor. Despite having his head on a morgue scale on the posters for Saw IV, Koules wants actor Tobin Bell back for "as many as he wants."

The boys know that they won't always be making a Saw movie a year. They're prepared to accept their fate when the grosses go down. "I think we'll all know," said Koules. "As of the tracking, as of today and as of everything else right now, we're still rolling. Listen, we're surprised. There's going to be a day we wake up, we don't have a $25 million weekend, we have a $4 million weekend. We're fine. We own the films. We're okay."

SAW 5 Shooting This Xmas

Last Night I spent on the set of REPO and hanging out with the cast of REPO. I cant say anything about that yet since I signed more forms saying I would not then you can beat a dog with. I can however tell you that SAW 5 is not just a thought. Its a fact. SAW 5 will begin development just after Xmas. Hackl told us that Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan will be working on the script and they will be going into production after Xmas.

Stay tuned for more including our report from the set of REPO and our review of SAW 4 coming soon!

Exclusive Interview: Patrick Melton IGN chats with the co-screenwriter of Saw IV, V and VI and the sequels to Feast.

IGN: So what exactly can you reveal about Saw V?

Melton: Yes, as stated, Marcus and I are writing V, in addition to VI. We pitched a trilogy early on, and we're continuing the open threads from IV (there are a lot). Additionally, with the final twist in III, we have things to work with from III. Like what ever happened to poor little Corbett (Jeff's daughter)? As usual, the overall story is shrouded in secret, so I can't say anything just yet.

^ Wow that's early this time. All of the other films started in May. I wonder if it scheduling conflicts with crew that's caused this changed or what? Releasing it earlier than Halloween maybe?

I hope not because its like a tradition :(

I agree, plus next year, Halloween falls on a Friday! So they could actually bring Saw V on Halloween.

Another thing that bothers me is that by rushing into production like this they may end up screwing things up. Maybe they're doing this so that they have more time to get the film right? I don't know, I just hope it is as good or better than Saw IV :)

?Saw V? To Explain Billy The Puppet

He?s been part of the movie series since the beginning, but although Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) is dead the significance of Billy the Puppet has never been truly explained. In the forthcoming Saw movies however, his importance will be revealed as will the real meaning of his tricycle.

?I can tell you that the tricycle that has appeared in all four ?Saw? films has a very simple and human explanation to it which I hope that in V and VI we will both understand and have a window into,? said Bell. ?The origins of Billy, the meaning of that, I think you will see when you see IV that we?ve started to enter into that area. I think there is some marvelous storyline yet to be told.?

The Saw franchise has already lasted four movies and some fans are asking the question why has Bell decided to deal with these elements now. The answer quite simply is because there are fans out there that do want to know their meaning and because they are integral to the stories.

?I think those two objects are simple things and everyone kind of has seen Billy since the beginning,? he continued. ?Well, what is that? And why? Although perhaps you don?t think about it, it has its effect on you. He has his effect and the tricycle has its effect when it enters the scene. I?m interested to show what those origins are. I think fans are really interested in known what the origins of very specific moments, especially Saw fans who are into the details. They just are. I?m always impressed with that.?

Lionsgate Sets a Date for Saw V

Lionsgate has announced an official release date for the next chapter in the Jigsaw's intricate games. Saw V will hit theaters on October 24, 2008. David Hackl is taking over directing duties this time out but writers Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton will be returning. Rumor has it, bits of part five have already been shot, lensed during the immensely successful Saw IV (which has grossed $63.1 million to date).

The roller coaster is just taking off from here, so hang on for more updates.

To break it down, Saw IV has made $107,660,668 worldwide.

Saw III - $164,874,275

Saw II - $147,739,965

Saw I - $103,096,345

Saw IV will most likely only beat Saw I in the box office, but since it is only in 330 theaters in states, it is unlikely it will go much further domestically. The good thing is that it hasn't opened in all foreign countries yet, so theres a slight chance it will beat Saw II, but I doubt it will come close to beating Saw III.

    • They aren't going to want to. Most would just go with the 17 Pro and save money. Why would they want to spend $300 for basically the same thing? It's not worth it if there are hardly any changes from year to year.
    • 24H2 rolled out to the Release Preview Channel in early June 2024, so this coming a bit later in the Experimental Channel (formerly Dev) doesn't really say much more than earlier H2 releases that came out in October. I am not sure what the thinking is here by putting it in Experimental, one would think that the 26H2 stamp means features are locked down and it's now bug tested until October? I don't even pretend to understand Microsoft's strategy for Windows Insider Program though
