Welcome to Neowin's UK Xbox 360 Special Offers & Deals topic. As you can see I started this topic a few years ago and it has grown significantly due to the wonderful community we have here of like minded gamers. This topic has already gone through two different updates and now I introduce you to the third and latest major update. If you need help to find the best price on a game, bundle, Xbox Live Points or you want to share a special offer you've found, this topic is the place for you & we're here to help! This topic has always been what I feel is my baby to Neowin (cheesy I know :p), where I can give back to the community amidst all the discussions/heated moments, but it wouldn't be a success without the help of the other excellent members. So here's to many more deals & saving money.

These sites will provide you with cheaper Xbox Live Points & Gold subscription codes. How they dispatch them to you may vary, however most of them will detail exactly how they deliver. My personal favourite is www.CheapXboxLiveCodes.com, whom I've used many times now & never had an issue. They also own an eBay shop however with recent changes to eBay's terms & conditions they are no longer able to email codes via eBay. They charge extra P&P on eBay to send the codes to your home address, but they will send you codes via email from their personal site for a reduced price.

If buying games isn't your thing then these are the companies I'd recommend to rent from. Game use SwapGame to dispatch their copies however they offer different tariffs, so choose the one right for you. Don't forget about your local BlockBuster stores either who will occasionally have bargains to buy.

I started another topic when these were introduced to Xbox Live last year but it was too much work to keep two topics going at the same time. It didn't help that it would be buried under topics either. From now on though I'll post the deals of the week here.

If you want your games early my advice would be to buy from ShopTo primarily. They offer next day delivery (recorded) for free on all of their orders. They will send them if the order is made before 5:30pm or the next day if it's after 5:30pm. They also have a txt service available which allows you to order when away from the computer.

Along with ShopTo, I also receive games very quickly from Game & GamePlay (both the same company now), however remember delivery dates are always subject to the service used, post strikes and of course your location. If you live somewhere remote don't expect games to be delivered lightning fast, in other words. They'll also knock an extra £1 off your order when you order by SMS (not available for preorders).

Cash%20Back.png

Very easily overlooked these days but I assure you if you sign up to these services you will start saving £100s, and it's not just limited to your console/game purchases either.

You can transfer this money back to your PayPal account or bank account. Quidco will also take an administration fee once a year for the cost of membership (it's only £5). However, TopCashBack don't have a membership fee.

Example using Game:

1) Sign up for an account to Quidco if you haven't already.

2) Search for the e-tailer you want to buy from (Game).

3)Check the details & requirements for Cashback.

4) Follow the link to Game's site.

5) Sign into Game & buy the game just like you normally do.

6) Few weeks later, profit!

Tips:

* Make sure your computer & browser are configured properly.

* Clear cookies & cache, disable pop-up, ad, & image-blockers.

* Log into Quidco and click on the retailer link on the Quidco site.

* Don't type anything in the address window of your browser after logging into Quidco.

* Don't open any other tabs or windows in the same browser, or click on any links in tabs or windows that may already be open.

* If you must visit another site before completing your purchase, please use a different browser to do so. Interrupting the browser session that started from Quidco can affect tracking.

* Don't use unauthorised voucher or other discount codes. Authorised codes are displayed on the retailer page.

* Don't use "refer a friend" programs or promotional links from other sites.

* Complete your purchase online, all in one session.

* Keep all email confirmations and documents from the retailer - just in case you need to use the information for submitting an earnings enquiry.

Using vouchers & Qudico?

This varies on a retailer to retailer basis. Where possible, Quidco aims to always offer our members the ultimate saving by combining cashback with voucher codes. However this is not an option with all retailers. Our retailers may offer you the following saving options:

* Cashback plus voucher code: these offers enable you to save twice, via the provision of a voucher code plus you are able to earn cashback on your purchase. In some of these instances, if a voucher code is used to save, the retailer may reduce the cashback rate as they cannot afford to pay the full rate however in all instances the cashback rate associated with the offer is clearly labelled.

* Cashback only: in these instances you can only earn cashback with your purchase. If you use a voucher code it may result in your cashback being declined.

* Voucher code only: some retailers will provide Quidco members with voucher codes which will give them an instant saving however, cashback is not provided.

* Cashback OR voucher code: some retailers are unable to offer savings via both cashback and a voucher code and so in these instances they will offer Quidco members the choice of using either a voucher code to earn an instant saving or cashback to earn a delayed saving, however you will not be able to use both in conjunction.

You can clearly identify whether an offer allows you to use a voucher code and cashback, only cashback, only a voucher code, or whether it is simply a deal by using our helpful symbols displayed next to every listing..

Voucher%20Codes.png

These come and go, and along with doing some searching for cheap prices, the next best thing to save you money (obviously). In the past year or so both Game and Zavvi have updated their systems to reduce the abuse the old voucher codes used to get. However some clever chaps occasionally find a way to abuse them, just be careful who you try to "scam". ** Particular retailers I would advise against using vouchers with are AdditionsDirect/Littlewoods/Very. They are all the same company and unless you have been specifically sent the voucher code in the mail they'll likely cancel your order or ignore it and charge the full amount. ShopTo, Tesco Entertainment, The Hut & Zavvi are the most regular voucher sites at the time of writing.

Reward%20Points.png

This isn't specifc just to Game, but they are by far the best for it imo. Whenever you purchase from them you will be rewarded points which can go to further / future purchases. They also double them up when it comes to preorders so you can make quite a substantial amount back. If you find a game that's the same price on a few websites, my advice would be to buy from Game and at least you are saving money for future purchases this way. Not only that, but you can use them instore as well as offline which is something not all websites offer.

Thank you

DM

But he asked for a ?5 code, not a ?3 cod:p:p

Doesn't matter, Game offer only one voucher code at a time, and the one available just now is for ?3. If there was a ?5 code, don't you think I'd include it instead of a ?3 code..

pro / premium are the same thing.

I'm scared it will lack HDMI and be an older "inside build".

The pro model or "hdmi" model in the UK isn't that widespread is it?

Whens Mass Effect out? It will cause my 360 purchase "cave-in" :p

I think the only way you can be sure you get an HDMI version is to buy it in a shop and check the box yourself (it will say on the box if it has HDMI or not).

27th. I'm literally counting down the days.

Is that for UK as well?

^ I thought the name "Pro" was replacing Premium?

Or does the box still say Premium and then "HDMI" enabled on the back?

According to wikipedia - its the 20th in the USA and 23rd over here. As its wikipedia though - it could easily be wrong.

With the Pro / premium thing, AFAIK its still officially called the premium (in the USA its just called the Xbox 360). And although I have no first hand knowledge of this, from what I've read, if it has HDMI it will say so on the box.

premiums do not have HDMI only Pros do in the UK. If in doubt check the box for a HDMI logo on it

Thanks for clarification (Y)

    • TeraCopy 4.0 Build 28 by Razvan Serea TeraCopy is a compact program designed to copy and move files at the maximum possible speed, also providing you with a lot of features. Copy files faster. TeraCopy uses dynamically adjusted buffers to reduce seek times. Asynchronous copy speeds up file transfer between two physical hard drives. Pause and resume transfers. Pause copy process at any time to free up system resources and continue with a single click. Error recovery. In case of copy error, TeraCopy will try several times and in the worse case just skips the file, not terminating the entire transfer. Interactive file list. TeraCopy shows failed file transfers and lets you fix the problem and recopy only problem files. Shell integration. TeraCopy can completely replace Explorer copy and move functions, allowing you work with files as usual. TeraCopy is free for non-commercial use only. For commercial use you need to buy a license. The paid version of the program includes the following features: Copy/move to your favorite folders. Save reports as HTML and CSV files. Select files with the same extension/folder. Remove the selected files from the copy queue. Features added since version 3.17: Enhanced speed graph. New multi-threaded copy engine. Support for copying to multiple targets. Queue system for managing multiple copy operations. Support for receiving files via the LocalSend protocol. TeraCopy entry in the modern Windows Explorer context menu. Integrated toolbar in the title bar. Why receive LocalSend transfers with TeraCopy? Handle file conflicts: Skip, overwrite, or rename files when a file with the same name already exists. LocalSend always creates another copy, which can waste time and disk space, especially when resuming an interrupted transfer. Filter unwanted files: Apply ignore lists or remove files manually before accepting a transfer, so unnecessary files are not downloaded. Better performance on fast networks: In tests over a 10 Gbps connection, TeraCopy received files several times faster than the standard LocalSend app on Windows. TeraCopy 4.0 Build 28 changelog: Fixed a bug where Overwrite behaved as Overwrite All during same-drive move operations. AdvancedInstaller fixed the installer’s security vulnerability: EXE Bootstrapper resolved the %appdata% location incorrectly for the System account. • New AMD graphics driver fixes install issues and FSR 4.1 crashes on RX 7000 GPUs by Taras Buria AMD is rolling out yet another graphics driver. Version 26.6.4 is now available for download, bringing two important fixes. One is for those still using Windows 10 and having trouble installing driver 26.6.2. In fact, this patch is coming from the recently released hotfix, so it is not new if you are already running version 26.6.3. The second fix is for RX 7000 owners. AMD recently brought FSR 4.1 support to the previous-gen graphics cards, but there was a bug with certain games crashing when using FSR 4.1. I experienced this issue with Forza Horizon 6, so today's driver should take care of that. Here is the official changelog: Intermittent install issue seen when installing AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.2 on Windows® 10 systems for Radeon™ RX 7000 series and above graphics products. Intermittent application crash may be observed in some games with AMD FSR Upscaling 4.1 enabled on Radeon™ RX 7000 series graphics products. Known issues include the following: Intermittent application crash or driver timeout may be observed while playing Battlefield™ 6 on AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. AMD is actively working on a resolution with the developer to be released as soon as possible. Texture flickering or corruption may appear while playing Battlefield™ 6 with AMD Record and Stream on some AMD graphics products. AMD FSR Upscaling and AMD FSR Frame Generation may show as inactive in AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition while playing Battlefield™ 6 when enabled on Radeon™ RX 9000 series graphics products. Failure to install may be observed while installing AI Bundle components in some regions with limited access to HuggingFace and GitHub. Model flickering or rendering failure may be observed in Maxon Cinema 4D and Blender on Radeon™ RX 7000 series and above graphics products. Users experiencing this issue are recommended to install AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.3.1. Intermittent application crash may be observed on some models while running Blender on Radeon™ RX 7000 series and above graphics products. Users experiencing this issue are recommended to install AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.3.1. You can download the AMD Radeon driver 26.6.4 from the official website here. Full release notes are available on the same page.
    • Amazon may use OpenAI and Nova models after Anthropic reportedly raises costs by Karthik Mudaliar Amazon is reportedly considering to use OpenAI models and even its own Nova family of AI models after Anthropic raised the cost of using Claude inside Amazon services. According to a report from The Information, Amazon is weighing its options to reduce costs under a new arrangement with Anthropic. But back in April, Amazon said it would invest $5 billion more in Anthropic, with the possibility of adding up to another $20 billion if certain commercial milestones are met. That investment actually came on top of another $8 billion Amazon had already put into the Claude maker. Anthropic, meanwhile, committed to spend more than $100 billion over 10 years on AWS technologies, including Amazon’s Trainium chips. Amazon isn't just a customer of Anthropic but also one of the most important backers and cloud partners. This is why it makes it interesting that Amazon is considering other alternatives to handle its internal workloads. Although Amazon has been building its own options for a while now. Its Nova family of AI models was announced in late 2024 for Amazon Bedrock, with models aimed at text, image, and video tasks. Amazon pitched the model around cost and latency at that time. With that said, OpenAI has also become a more realistic option recently for AWS customers as well as for Amazon itself. Earlier this year, OpenAI brought its latest models and Codex coding agent to Amazon Bedrock, after changes to its previously more restrictive Microsoft cloud arrangement. This allowed AWS to serve even those customers who wanted other alternatives from Claude, without having to move workloads out of Amazon's cloud. Evaluating alternatives could also be due to commercial pressure and not necessarily a sign of a damaged partnership between Amazon and Anthropic. Whether or not Amazon is actually considering switching entirely to OpenAI's models or its own Nova models remains unknown at this moment.
    • Samsung introduces new AI classroom tools and interactive displays at ISTELive 2026 by Fiza Ali Samsung has announced several new education-focused software features and interactive displays for schools during ISTELive 2026, taking place in Orlando, Florida, from 28 June to 1 July. The focus of these updates is on making shared classroom displays easier to use for teachers while giving IT administrators more control over managing devices. One of the key additions is the Samsung Account Management Solution (AMS). In many schools, multiple teachers share the same interactive display throughout the day, which means signing in and setting everything up can become repetitive. With AMS, teachers can log in by scanning a QR code or tapping an NFC-enabled ID card. Once signed in, their personalised workspace, including wallpapers, bookmarks, app shortcuts, and files, can be instantly accessed through Home Personalisation. Samsung has also included a screen lock feature, allowing teachers to lock the display if they need to step away briefly. Furthermore, the company is also updating its Education Portal with new tools designed for school IT administrators. The portal will allow IT administrators to register teachers, enrol devices, and manage user access from a central dashboard. Administrators can also link NFC cards to teacher accounts, making sign-ins quicker across shared displays. Another addition is a Tags feature that lets schools organise displays by building or classroom. Those tags can also be used to send emergency notifications to selected Samsung Interactive Displays through compatible platforms such as InformaCast and Raptor. Moreover, the tech giant's AI Assistant is gaining several new features aimed at supporting everyday classroom tasks such as lesson planning and classroom engagement. One of the features is Circle to Search, which lets teachers circle text or images on the display to quickly find related information, videos, or web results without interrupting the lesson. The content can then be brought into Samsung Whiteboard. Another feature, Live Transcript, converts spoken lessons into real-time captions, which could be useful for students with hearing impairments or those in multilingual classrooms. The AI Assistant also introduces AI Summary and AI Quiz. The summary tool creates summaries of recorded lessons, while AI Quiz generates questions based on lesson content so teachers can quickly check how well students are following along. Teachers signed in through Samsung AMS can also return to their previous AI-generated lesson materials without logging in again. Alongside the software updates, Samsung has expanded its Android-based Interactive Display range with three new models: the WAF-S, WAFX-PS, and WAHX-M. The WAF-S and WAFX-PS ship with Android 16, bringing updates to security, accessibility, and overall usability while maintaining compatibility with Google's education services including Google Classroom and Google Drive through EDLA certification. Meanwhile, the new WAHX-M is the biggest addition to the lineup, introducing a 98-inch display for larger spaces such as lecture halls and conference rooms. It will also be available in 65-inch, 75-inch and 86-inch sizes. Samsung says the WAHX-M further includes on-device AI features such as voice commands, text-to-speech, and an AI calculator, alongside support for Samsung AMS and AI Assistant. Samsung AI Assistant has been available since April, while Samsung AMS and the updated Education Portal will begin rolling out in July.
