[Official UK] Xbox 360 Special Offers & Deals

Recommended Posts

I picked this up thinking it would be great now that you can save games to your HDD, but it doesn't come with a migration cable, so I had to phone up xbox support, listen to some stupid recorded american voice telling me to explain my problem. Finally got through to a person and they were asking me all these questions about my new Elite console, which I didn't buy . . . .

So they sent it, 10days later it arrives, I read the instructions and it says:

IMPORTANT[/b]>

During the transfer process, all content on your new Xbox 360 Hard Drive will be erased. Xbox LIVE Arcade games and most other content purchased on Xbox LIVE Marketplace can be re-downloaded free of charge.

It then goes on to say:

To avoid erasing existing game saves or gamer profiles on your new hard drive, you can move them to an Xbox 360 Memory Unit (sold separately) for temporary storage. Once the hard drive content transfer is complete, you can then safely copy your game saves or profile to your new hard drive.

So basically I'm bricking it. Do I risk losing all my game saves? Or am I just reading this wrong, and all the current content on my old HDD will stay intact.

Cheers

Basically they advise you to backup any important data to a MU before making the transfer in case anything goes wrong with it or its corrupt (i.e game saves and profiles).

You aren't bricking anything. Once the transfer is complete you can still use the old HDD or sell it on. It will be completely formatted though during the transfer.

Anyone got any links for a cheap 120GB HD? I still have my cable from when I upgraded to a 20GB machine to a 60GB machine, but since the new dash installing games is a must and thus I want a bigger HD :)

Cheers Andy, trying to load CCLOnline now, taking ages though :( Gamestation (2 of them here in Liverpool city centre) never have them in stock :(

I don't mean bricking the device. I mean I'm s**ting bricks. I don't want to have all my stuff erased. Looks like I'll have to fork out for a memory card then to be on the safe side.

Do you know anyone you can borrow one from? you will only really need it for save games, profiles can be obtained again by the retrieval system. Mind you saying that you can only move saves to the same device the profile is located on :(

I mean I'm s**ting bricks.

Gotcha :p

Without the "s*******" infront of it I thought you meant brick the hardware

And yeah I tried loading CCLOnline too but it was taking too long. Worth checking if it ever loads though.

Hey, does anyone know about any decent offers for Rock Band 2? I can only find it for ?40, which is too much. If I could find it for ?30 or less, I'm laughing then!:D:D

Thanks for the GHWT offer!

FYI, it works if you bought the band bundle like I did as well. Also, please note you get to pick 5 songs from a list of only 10:

  • "No Rain" by Blind Melon
  • "Human" by The Killers (My Pick #1)
  • "The Shock of the Lightning" by Oasis (My Pick #2)
  • "Supernatural Superserious" by R.E.M. (My Pick #3)
  • "The Everlasting Gaze" by the Smashing Pumpkins (My Pick #4)
  • "Hot Blooded" by Foreigner
  • "Jessie's Girl" by Rick Springfield
  • "Salute Your Solutions" by The Raconteurs
  • "Sliver" by Nirvana
  • "Rock and Roll Band" by Boston (My Pick #5)

I'm really disappointed by the list. I wanted to get the James Bond theme! Also, Nickelback is finally coming today!!!

Oh, another BTW: When you complete the offer and choose your tracks, you're greeted with a message that says "You will recieve instructions on how to download your tracks in 4-6 weeks via the email address you provided."

4 BLOODY WEEKS?!?!

    • Very fitting name since AI users have air where there brains should be.
    • Yes, it was amusing at the time because even then dbrand was well known for stealing the designs of products from other companies. That’s what they do.
    • Didn’t Dbrand once complain that Casetify was ripping off their designs a well? seems pretty bad of them to try and get around Valve’s copyright this way with that in mind.
    • Dbrand thought they could get away with this Steam Machine case, Valve disagreed by David Uzondu Image via Dbrand Dbrand has cancelled its highly anticipated Companion Cube enclosure for the Valve Steam Machine, which it teased back in November of last year with a concept render and sign-up page, because it did not ask Valve for permission first before manufacturing the case. According to Dbrand, it took the "backwards approach" of building the product first before asking for permission from the copyright holder. Seven months of work went into the project, requiring over a thousand engineering hours from the design team. Workers developed forty-four sets of injection molding tools, making a unique mold for each sub-component of the crate. When the Companion Cube went live on Monday last week, it, according to Dbrand, quickly became the second-fastest-selling product in the company's fifteen-year history, racking up orders for hundreds of thousands of units. Customers eagerly bought the $129.95 deluxe edition or the bare-bones $99.95 version, which the manufacturer cheekily branded as the "Poverty Cube". It was around this time that the legal eagles at Valve descended on the accessory maker with a formal demand. The developer pointed out that the iconic block design remains protected intellectual property from the game Portal, so unlicensed sales had to stop. Dbrand said that all its pleas to salvage the project with the Valve team, including proposals to run a properly licensed release under official terms "with their blessing", fell on deaf ears, so it had no choice but to obey and remove every trace of the product from the internet. If you bought the enclosure, the company said that banks will process your refund by the end of this week, but if it still hasn't arrived in your account by then, you should not hesitate to contact support. The Steam Machine itself is a high-performance console that Valve designed directly to bring PC gaming into the living room. It was announced on 12th November 2025 (the same day Dbrand announced the Cube) and runs on the Linux-based SteamOS, the same OS that powers the Steam Deck. As for the price, due to the shortage of memory and storage chips, the hardware cost landed much higher than people were expecting, starting at $1,049 for the 512 model (without a controller) or $1,128 with the new gamepad. The premium 2 TB model pushes those prices even higher, selling at $1,349 for the standalone console and hitting $1,428 if you want the bundle.
