Add the product you want the ?5 reduced fromfirst>. Then add a product which makes the total basket over ?50.

When you're in the checkout process add the code and it will reduce the first item by ?5. Complete the order.

Once it's completed, go into My Account > Manage Orders and then cancel the 2nd item. The first item will still be in place with the ?5 reduced.

email recieved twice over, both in reference to microsoft points being ordered. i left the preorder i had used to do the glitch without cancelling them just on the off chance they might cancel it and catch on like last time but it seems that they are stopping them going through. anyone else had similar issues?

Nope mine worked fine! Bought 2 of them and they were both accepted & sent.

Dear Mr Gallacher

Your Order Number(s):

xxxxxxxxxxx

Qty Description

1 Xbox Live Marketplace 2100 Points Card [Xbox 360]

We are pleased to advise that your order, xxxxxxxxxxxx, is now on its way!

found out they were blocking my orders due to a small number of cancellations in the last month or so [maybe linked to the ?10 glitch?] but after 2 seperate calls to customer services they finally told me this and "unblocked" my account... sounds stupid and shady to me :

The 360 Arcade that Rob posted on the last page is still out of stock :(. Anyone know the cheapest place to pick one up?

I got one from argos for ?136, it was a Jasper unit, and included sega superstar tennis.

You can also get a 3 year 'in-store replace with new warranty' for ?27.99

With the GAME glitch, why dont you just keep the pre-ordered game ordered until the points are sent out, and then cancel it? That should work, right? Seeing as you're not charged for the preordered game until it's sent out.

Just had a mail that they have cancelled the two points cards that I ordered the other day using the glitch. I tried again with the older code and the new one given and all it does now is take the discount from the total amount and not the first item on the list, so going in and cancelling Tony Hawk etc still leaves the points card at ?16.99:((

Ahh well:((

Still working this is just an additional code, I thought that I would post it as I am not sure of expiry dates for either - although more than likely they will expire at the same time.

Unlucky John, I just ordered another one now using the new code.

Plus I used ?2.50 of GAME points so 2100 Points for ?9.49!

So it is still working

it looks like tehy are cancelling all the orders with the points now. i had about 6 cancelled over the last 48 hours. as well as 2 on seperate new accounts, and thats with the pre-orders still active on the orders. hopefully my other preorders will still make it through though as i still have a few on the old ?10 glitch still waiting, and batman will be the first test of that. still made the preorders on the hut as well just in case for halo 3, dirt 2 and call of duty:pp

*edit* going to try the new code and see if it works for me. i'll try it only once though

    • Well, it's good to know that they have found a workaround to a problem that they helped create, I guess...
    • Meta is reusing old DDR4 RAM in its servers instead of buying new hardware by Ivan Jenic Image: Meta The global hardware shortage isn’t exactly news, as the entire world has been struggling with rising component prices for quite some time now. And while big companies certainly aren’t as affected as the average consumer, even they aren’t opposed to the idea of saving a few (million) bucks. Meta appears to have found a way to spend less on new hardware while also putting its outdated infrastructure to use, essentially killing two birds with one stone. The company has built a custom chip that lets it reuse memory from retired servers rather than buying new hardware. The chip is called Vistara and allows for connecting old DDR4 RAM from obsolete servers into new servers that rely on DDR5. The problem Vistara solves goes back to a basic mismatch in how long hardware lasts. Meta replaces its servers every three to five years, but the memory modules inside them are good for seven to ten. When a server gets decommissioned, perfectly usable DDR4 RAM goes with it. Meta is presenting the new method at today’s ISCA symposium, but The Register has got hold of a paper that explains how Vistara works. It's a custom ASIC that bridges DDR4 memory to newer processors via aCXL 2.0/1.1 interface over PCIe Gen5 x16. Meta pulls DDR4 sticks from old machines and installs them in dedicated units it calls MemServers, each of which pairs 768GB of DDR5 with 256GB of recovered DDR4. The operating system sees the DDR4 as an additional memory node and draws from it when the primary DDR5 is running low. Off-the-shelf CXL hardware couldn't do this, so Meta built its own. Existing interfaces bundle their own memory with the controller, which makes reusing old RAM sticks impossible. But Vistara separates the controller from the memory entirely, so Meta can plug in whatever DDR4 sticks it has on hand. Meta plans to deploy the new architecture in hyperscale infrastructure with millions of servers, which should mean that Meta’s AI datacenters will now be more efficient. The company is investing heavily in AI infrastructure, especially with its new AI model, Muse Spark, now widely available. All of this doesn't mean that Meta will exclusively rely on "recycled" RAM, but the company is still looking at considerable savings at scale.

    • I like Tidal, but it still does not control devices from the mobile/app and still no surround support. And yeah re: above comment I still get a lot of network errors and I am on a 4/4 Gbit Fiber connection.
