try thehut.com i ordered mine there for just under ?60 but thats the hardened. i do remeber seeing the normal edition for about ?38/39

and unfortunatly my brother wants the controller edition, so i guess i'll pick it up instore on the day

Site says ?44.73.

You're in luck. I found a place that's selling it for ?37.98. I've never heard of the place though, so I don't know what it'll be like.

If you want a more trustworthy place, Toys R Us are selling it for ?39.99.

Nope. It's ?44.73 there.

Coolshop looks okay, some guys on AVForums say its okay, can get 5% cashback too. Toy R Us I could do. Worth a try but I would use my Credit Card for extra security. Thanks.

I preordered MW2 @ tescodirect, fo:)?32 :)

Site says ?44.97.

Edit - Toys R Us adds ?4.95 for P&P (What a joke) and Coolshop payment system is messy, can't seem to follow through with the order! Timesout when I get to the MasterCardSecure code section. Any other choices?

A pretty damn expensive game.

Take a Look at this list of prices.

Because Activision know it's a giant cash cow now. And if Bobby Kotick - gaming's new #1 enemy (Jack Thompson has no power anymore) - has his way, the games will get even more expensive. He wants to charge ?75 a game; and the worst part is that he believes we're willing to pay!:

Yeah it looks like we're stuck with high prices, I am hoping future games won't be like this.

Yeah, I won't be buying games if they are ?75.

Same here. I don't even buy games for ?40 at the moment. I always wait for them to go on offer, or I pre-order them if a shop is doing an offer on them, like Stoked (?24.85) and Tekken 6 (?29.85). There's also Gran Turismo 5 and Heavy Rain on the PS3 (both for ?32.95); all of them coming from Sho:)o. :)

I'm slightly p'ed that my Halo 3 ODST order got rejected from GAME though, as with an earlier ?10 voucher code combined with them offering it at ?30 for a short time, I would have got it fo:(?20. :(

Just got an email saying my ?19.99 copy of ODST has been dispatched from Game!:))

20/09/2009 Your order has been dispatched.

20/09/2009 Your order is currently being picked and packed.

Got the same email this morning as well.

:))

My copy arrived from GAME this morning :)

On a different note, my friend's asked if I know of any good deals on 12 months live gold membership. I was gonna point him to the instant access ShopTo code but it's out of stock at the mo :( Anyone know of any alternative sites to try for instant codes or where to get the card on the cheap?

eBay is generally your best bet that's where my my last three 13 month cards have come from for under ?30

Do you use any particular seller?

Shame - the 12 months are out of stock there:(( Brilliant price though.

Just look on eBay for some, make sure their seller rating is good and that they e-mail you the code. Its pretty much easy to get one cheap on their. Just don't go for some guy with low sales.

I just made a post regarding this in the "Super Elite Confirmed" thread, but seeing as people probably won't be looking in there for offers, I'm posting it here too. This is the best price I've found so far:

ShopTo - Forza 3 Super Elite Bundle - ?239.99

Remember folks - this is a 250GB drive, plain black elite with 2 wireless controllers, a headset and a copy of Forza 3. Great value for money considering the normal elite on it's own (with a single controller, headset, 120GB drive and no game) sells for ?189.99 there.

Nice deal, but I don't think I need 250 GB otherwise I might sell my current 360 and upgrade to a nice black one. I'm not gonna be a sucker for the games on demand, no resale value, high prices etc.

Great for people who need a console thoug:):)

    • Linux 7.2's first release candidate gets off to a good start by Paul Hill Credit: Larry Ewing It has been a few weeks since the release of Linux 7.1, and in that time, the Linux 7.2 merge window has been open, where developers can submit their features and patches ready for the upcoming release. That window is now shut, and the release candidate phase has begun so that new features can be tested and further fixes applied. According to the founder of Linux, Linus Torvalds, this week’s release candidate looks “reasonably normal”. Although we are super early in the release candidates, this is a good sign as it makes it more likely that an eighth release candidate will not be needed. Torvalds even mentioned that the update’s stats are only larger than they really are because there was another AMD header drop with a third of the patch just being AMD GPU register definitions, which aren’t big changes but make the code contributed look larger overall. In addition to this, he noted that just over half the patch is drivers, even when excluding the AMD register dump. The rest of the changes are spread out over architecture updates, tooling, documentation, and core kernel updates. In the next week, Torvalds says that he will be chilling out, taking the week “mostly off”. Despite this, he will be reading emails and keeping up with things, so if he is slow responding, now you know why. He said he is hoping for a calm week, but we will just have to see if the second release candidate is actually like that. We should expect seven or eight release candidates before Linux 7.2 is released, so expect it around the end of August. If you missed it a few weeks ago, be sure to check out our coverage of Linux 7.1's release.
