Buying a motherboard!

Hello!

On my previous topic, "Buying a new computer" I stated my need for getting a computer. I was told to make it myself. This is probably the first in a series of polls for finding out which parts will be best for me.

This one is for motherboard.

Please tell me which one you think is the best.

I've always liked MSI. I've used DFI, Gigabyte, ASUS, ECS and Abit. I find MSI suites me best. ASUS is a very close second. One I would never buy again would be ECS. Stay away. Trust me on this one.

Asus seems to be the general consensus... on this forum and others.... but I will wait and see.

ASUS is my choice.

I'm currently building a PC and have ordered the P5N-E SLI... at least i think that's the one :/ i love my wonderful memory. Anyway, if you want any reference for parts/prices you can check my thread here

Well, make it your own choice, basing it off a poll seems stupid. Just look at the reviews

For most users:

Asus, Gigabyte, Abit, others

DFI is my fave tho but not many will pay the money bcuz they are expensive boards and don't have a broad range of different boards, like Asus/Gigabyte/Abit/MSI.

I have an MSI board myself. It's nothing close to great. But it is not the worst, either. Anything with Nvidia chipsets, FTL...

I bought an ASUS M2N-E SLI recently for a new build ... works a treat, booted up first time, updated BIOS real easy ... nice and cheap ... well pleased!!

Yeah Asus FTW, I've used quite a few LGA775 Asus boards... P5W64-WS Pro, P5NT-WS, P5N-E SLI, P5K-Deluxe, P5K3-Deluxe, P5E3-Deluxe, etc

Not from what I've seen. A year ago, I had a problem with my 6600 AGP card.. sent it in to MSI, got it back in less than two weeks. No issues trying to send it back, no issues with the card after I installed it in my PC. MSI been very very good to me. Go read some reviews about them.
