difference between +R and -R?

I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but search returned nothing. So what's the difference between discs labeled +R/RW and -R/RW?

DVD-R = Writeable only once, can't erase.

DVD-RW = Re-write. You can re-write it over.

Same applys for CD-R, and CD-RW.

Data on +R is supposedly more reliable in terms of the way it is burned onto the disc. It has slightly less disc space than -R (7MB approx).

working at bestbuy for two years, that was by far the most common question of all.

i'll tell you the same i told every customer that asked me that question:

there's no difference significant enough, so buy whichever is cheaper....

+ is better cuase its positive.
