Sup Vishal, love your vista ultimate theme. One thing I was wondering, do I have to do anything special to see my user icon on the start menu like in your screen shots? I have tried other themes with similar start menu's and none of them display my user icon, all I see is black inside the box. Thanks in advance.

I think you have to use the Welcome screen to get the icon in the start menu.

Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Change the way users log on or off -> Make sure Use welcome screen is checked

I'm A regural guy and i know a little about computers.

I downloaded the theme, but i can't find a folder called "%Windir%".

So where can i find it so i can get a Vista theme?

I need to know wheres the windir folder thingy and how i can patch things?

Im very greatful if you help me:).

Yes, the user icon will be there.

This is an excellent theme. I even like it a bit more than Aero. It feels snappier too, though that might be because XP is just faster. I've gone back to XP until Vista SP1 is out. This will tide me over nicely. Thanks. :)

Firstly and foremost love your theme!!! Very well done!! This is by far the most attractive and usable theme I have used for XP to date!! Its running great! Just had a quick question though that I have not yet seen covered. How difficult (if possible) would it be to further customize the shellstyle.dll file used in the bottom common tasks mod to display a custom list of shortcuts that I define (i.e. I would like it to display a My computer shortcut, my documents shortcut ect.). No biggie if it cant be done, just curious because I would like the common tasks to be on the bottom if I was able to control what showed up there by default. Thanks soooo much for your efforts!!!

Thanks VG, looks great!

I noticed that the previous "VistaVG Theme for Windows XP" used Tahoma as the default font, and now it's Segoe UI.

I know that Segoe UI is the deault font in Vista. But since I don't use the ClearType, the Segoe UI font can't displayed well on my LCD :(

So I changed back and using the old version now. It's great, too, but I like the new one better :) So can anyone tell me how to change the font to Tahoma for this version? It seemed simply change the font will make the buttons rather small or can't be used... :(

I love this theme!!! :D But there is one thing that keeps messing up on my pc. It may just be on mine but when I put Windows media player on to my taskbar, and while the music is playing, the pause button seems to be out of place:

whileplaying.jpg

And when I do press the pause button (i.e. the song is paused), everything seems to back into place.

SO yeah, any help would be appreciated!

Ok i patched my sp2 with the dll patcher etc. easy. Ok now im trying to install the theme. Do i simply move the folder into the windows/font and themes folder? Or do i extract the contents of x folder and move them there?? Whenever i try to put the file it gives me a message " Windows Font Folder"-File"...\Fonts was not found or could not be opened.

What did i do wrong?

    • Yeah... The root of my comment, ostensibly, is how to spin the story via the actual technical merits of the solution! * Decentralized (aka federated) solution with built-in encrypted ephemeral message transport, * Transport via Relays (intermediary servers) with no message archival, * Second configurable pathway are actual email servers (if DNS records are programmed accordingly) via IMAP protocols carriage, * "Chat-over-Email" is the design pattern adopted; it can either leverage full-blown Email Server (must use the INBOX folder) to exchange all received messages/edits/reactions (so be weary of notifications overloads) [best practice is creating a separate email acct used explicitly for federated chat purposes!] or leverage its built-in Relay Server mechanism which actually resides on-device (by default but can be configured otherwise), * By virtue of be a decentralized/federated model, all other intermediary servers who may pass-along messages (while the recipient's final relay/device is inaccessible) cannot snoop on the messages due to the encrypted nature of contents. The intermediaries may, however, analyze the metadata due to the simple fact that routing mechanisms require hints for relay destinations. Unfortunately, whomever is posting about DeltaChat across socials are misleading with "zero metadata" claims -- especially when the Relays (according to their own technical documents) mandate the addition of chat-version metadata and other decorations in order to actually transport any message. -- Based on this summary, I'd prefer if they'd better dual-path message transport (email server add-in, federated relay engine) rather than patch-on email protocols to existing federated social media frameworks. They're frankensteining something rather than extending widely-deployed technology stacks.
    • Decentralized search result anonymization...
    • Russia invaded Crimea, so not sure what you are getting at. Are you saying that the E.U is like what the USSR was? What is wrong with wanting control over your own country? i bet Trump would not stand by and allow Canada to control the U.S.
