You know it's funny that people defend him and say He is just a normal guy, blah blah.

Well, Normal people would NOT get away with that, normally.

You would get FIRED for acting like that in your job, almost certainly!

If you don't get fired, then it has to be because your boss like you a lot, which is bias and Unfair.

Wrestler director supports Bale

Darren Aronofsky has never worked on a film with Dark Knight star Bale

The director of Bafta-nominated film The Wrestler has backed Christian Bale over a leaked tape in which the actor seems to lose his temper on set.

Darren Aronofsky has described the four-minute rant, littered with insults and threats, as "reasonable".

The tape was apparently recorded on the set of Terminator Salvation. A voice, believed to be Bale, is heard abusing a crew member for walking into shot.

Aronofsky said: "I think he was right. I don't think he was out of line."

The subject of the actor's fury is said to be the film's director of photography, Shane Hurlbut.

Bale is apparently heard accusing Hurlbut of repeatedly "walking around in the background" of a scene between Bale's character, John Connor, and Bryce Dallas Howard, who plays his wife.

The tirade includes the use the F-word 35 times in just over four minutes.

'Deeply intense'

Speaking at last night's London Film Critics' Circle Awards, where The Wrestler was named film of the year, Aronofsky told the BBC's Colin Paterson that he understood why Bale was so annoyed.

Terminator Salvation

The film is the fourth instalment in the Terminator franchise

He said: "It is a sacred time between action and cut. If it was the first time it was excusable, but a second time that ruins it."

He added that he did not think the language used had been "abusive beyond call" and that he had seen many worse things go on on set.

The tape was leaked to gossip website TMZ. Sony Pictures has refused to comment and Bale's agent has not returned calls.

Aronofsky said: "Sets are very, very high-powered places where things go awry all the time and emotions are high.

"People are out there working really hard and exposing themselves, especially actors, and they need to be protected."

He went on to say: "Although it's never good to lose your temper that bad for obvious reasons, we don't know what scene he was doing."

It is a golden rule on a movie set that you do not walk about in front of the artist during a take - you do not distract him

Michael Winner

He could have been doing a deeply, deeply intense emotional scene."

Meanwhile, veteran director Michael Winner said Bale was "100% right" to lose his temper.

"It is a golden rule on a movie set that you do not walk about in front of the artist during a take - you do not distract him."

Winner, whose last film was 1999's Parting Shots, added: "Why should Christian Bale interrupt what could have been his best reading of those lines, and say very quietly, 'please don't walk while I'm acting'."

Terminator Salvation is due to be released in May.

Just heard Bale, I think for what happend, he was over reacting.

It seemed Bale was allowed to carry on, even though it was for 3 minutes. A Director or Producer should have stepped in. I heard someone say "I didn't see it" That isn't the right thing to say!

To be honest, I would have had a go at both of them. The DP shouldn't have really been doing anything while recording. Bale shouldn't have gone overboard. I understand it may have thrown Bale off, but Bale behaviour is not acceptable.

New York Comic Con: Terminator Salvation Panel (Source)

McG stopped by the New York Comic Con panel to discuss some Terminator Salvation footage and field questions from fans. While he discussed some topics already covered at the San Diego Comic Con last year, there was also quite a bit of new info, in addition to a bit of hilarity due to Bale’s recent antics.

Before we saw the footage, McG spent a lot of time on the defensive trying to justify this movie’s existence. He mentioned chatting with James Cameron about this project, but stops short of saying that Cameron gave the film any sort of particular blessing. From the way he described, it seems more like Cameron basically wished him well as professional courtesy. Given that this project is so far along, I’m surprised McG still feels the need to defend it so much.

He also mentioned Danny Elfman’s work on the score—something which I’m actually a bit worried about. While Elfman is still a better than average composer, none of his scores in the past decade have been all that great in my opinion (and anyone who brings up Spiderman will be flogged). McG confirmed that they have the series’ previous composer, Brad Fiedel, approval on using some of themes, but that’s to be expected at this point.

I was more interested in the news that Thom Yorke and Gustavo Santaollala would be contributing some tunes to the film, mainly because I’m sure that sound would be far more interesting than Elfman’s increasingly generic tendencies. And for the record, I agree with Peter’s comments on that news—Johnny Greenwood would have been an even better choice for the film’s sound.

We were then shown several minutes of footage from the film, with a mixture of complete and various degrees of incomplete shots. Some of the footage was repeated from the trailers already released, but among the new stuff there was quite a bit to get excited about. Most interesting to me was the generous inclusion of Michael Ironside who plays General Ashdown, leader of the human resistance. As we all know when it comes to Ironside, the more the better—and it looks like his character is the sort of hardass he’s known to play so well. McG made it know that Ashdown isn’t the sort of character that’s going to hand over leadership of the resistance to a so-called prophet very easily, and that John Connor will spend much of the film trying to prove himself.

Throughout the rest of the footage we get a glimpse at some of the larger action scenes which definitely cover territory we haven’t yet seen in the Terminator series (but still don’t seem all that original when compared to other films), and some longer scenes of Bale as John Connor. We see a longer version of his face-to-face monologue with a Terminator, and several scenes with Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reese.

It also seemed strange to me that McG would even dare show some of the very early CG work in this preview footage simply because we didn’t gain anything by seeing it, and the footage also works against his so-called focus on practical effects. The completed CG work appeared as seemless as any big-budget film these days, but we’ll need a longer and closer look at these special effects to determine how well they actually work.

After the footage was shown, McG opened the floor up for a Q&A session—which led to some hilarious situations given Bale’s recent antics. Some slightly spoilery highlights include:

* The first question dealt directly with Bale’s blowup, which McG explained as an unfortunate event but one that was resolved on the same day of shooting.

* In terms of continuity the film will be mostly informed by the Cameron films, but they will still follow T3’s timeline for Judgement Day and other events. He mentioned the film doesn’t reach 2033, the year John Connor supposedly dies.

* They won’t be following any continuity from the television show simply because it’s too difficult to work in that show’s numerous plotlines.

* The second time someone asked about Bale’s blowup he responded loudly with “What don’t you ****ing understand?!” I’m pretty sure the person who asked that question crapped their pants.

* He was vaguely non-commital about a Sarah Connor appearance in the film, but if I had to guess based on his response I wouldn’t be surprised if we see her in the film in something more than a photo.

Overall, I can confirm what many have said about McG after this panel: He’s a very engaging guy who knows what he needs to do to get us excited about this film, especially given his track record as a director. I can report that his enthusiasm and devotion to the film seems genuine, the only question is if his talents will measure up. Judging from the footage we saw the film already looks far more epic than T3, but it remains to be seen if it will reach the heights of Cameron’s films.

Thom Yorke and Gustavo Santaolalla Might Collaborate on Songs for Terminator Salvation? (Source)

As you probably already know, Danny Elfman will be providing the score for Terminator Salvation. At past events, director McG had mentioned that he at once point was considering having Radiohead, or more specifically front man Thom Yorke provide some score for the film. For some reason or another, the idea just never came to fruition.

But according to The Playlist, McG sounded a lot more hopefully about the idea during his appearance at the New York Comic Con over the weekend. Actually, he says that if it happens, it would be a collaboration between Yorke and Academy Award-winning Argentinian composer Gustavo Santaolalla (Babel, 21 Grams, Brokeback Mountain).

“We talked about Gustavo getting together with Thom Yorke from Radiohead which I thought would be very interesting.,” McG said. “And they may still do a couple of sounds for the movie.”

I love how every step of the way McG is “casting up” and trying to lure top talent, reguardless of their relation to the concept of a Hollywood blockbuster. As much as I like Gustavo’s film work, I’ve never been a fan of Yorke (which I’m sure will lose me points from the alt-indie crowd). Personally, I’ve always believed that Johnny Greenwood was the genius behind Radiohead, and I think he could provide something a lot more closer to the machine/computer sounds that a Terminator film might require.

Linda Hamilton In Negotiations For ?Terminator Salvation'

There?s a reason MTV News just named Sarah Connor our #8 Movie Badass of All Time. 24 years after she battled Arnold?s T-800 cyborg and 17 years after she donned a revealing tank top to do sweaty pull-ups in a mental institution, we just can?t quit Connor. Neither, it seems, can her alter-ego Linda Hamilton. In an exclusive interview with MTV, the actress revealed for the first time that she?s in active negotiations to reprise her iconic role in this May?s ?Terminator Salvation.?

?We are talking,? Hamilton told us during a wide-ranging conversation for her Movie Badass selection. ?I haven?t read it yet. I don?t know what direction they will go in.?

While she awaits the specifics in a script, Hamilton already knows what her role generally would be. ?My contribution would be voiceover,? she said. ?I would probably be very happy to loan my voice depending on what the material is. Wait and see. They?re already writing it. We?ve been negotiating it.?

News of Hamilton?s likely involvement jibes with word coming out of last weekend?s New York Comic-Con, where ?Salvation? director McG intimated that her participation in the reboot is essential. ?She?s the greatest,? he said of Sarah Connor, adding that as an integral figure in franchise mythology, ?one can imagine she plays an important role.?

Since he first began discussing the project and showing early footage, McG has been winning fans among the ?Terminator? faithful for his commitment to honor the original films?a stance that Hamilton didn?t feel the makers of ?T3? took. ?They offered me a part,? she said. ?I read it and I knew my character arc was so complete in the first two, and in the third one it was a negligible character. She died halfway through and there was no time to mourn her. It was kind of disposable, so I said no thank you.?

?I think [director] Jim [Cameron] was pretty clearly not going to be involved with the third one,? she continued. ?His partner had sold the rights to the third one. Then they came back to Jim, but it was so far along after the fact that he?d moved on. And I wouldn?t be involved with it if it weren?t Jim Cameron. The third one was all right but it just didn?t have the heat and excitement that Jim can bring.?

Of course, Cameron isn?t involved in the fourth ?Terminator? either. Like many fans, however, Hamilton seems to be giving McG?s new version the benefit of the doubt. ?It would be great fun,? she said.
