Terminator Salvation : The Future Begins

Terminator Salvation's Ending Changed due to Leakage

Everyone knows I hate spoilers and don't like revealing anything big, so with this bit of news, you're safe knowing that even we have no clue what's going to happen in Terminator Salvation. So the story goes that last June, the big twist ending of Terminator Salvation was leaked online (we, appropriately, never reported on it). Thankfully this was early enough into the production, that apparently McG and company completely changed the ending after that point. Moviehole is reporting that a friend inside of Warner Brothers has seen the film and tells them that the end was changed and is nothing like what was leaked.

Their source says that the ending was changed because of the internet leak. "The ending doesn't resemble the previous one in any shape or form." According to their source, it's "a complete [180] from the original film. Works better. Probably not as hard to swallow." That's all we're going to tell you, because not only do we not know what happens, but we don't want to know until we're watching Terminator Salvation in theaters on May 21st. Obviously no one at Warner Brothers is going to confirm this news, but I'm sure McG will be asked about it soon enough, so of course, look out for more details from McG sooner or later.

I'm very happy to hear that the ending was changed. I love the experience of seeing how a story plays out for the very first time while watching a movie in the theater. I was quite upset last year when it was all spoiled (even though I refused to even read about the ending). Other web guys claim that it's "their job" to ruin movies like that, but I believe in cinematic integrity and prefer not to spoil them. This news just means it'll still remain a secret until the first batch of audiences get to see it. And right now I can actually say that Terminator Salvation is the one summer movie with the most mystery surrounding it. Bring it on, McG!

Lies! That would have been a terrible ending. Connor a cyborg cmon. Especially if there's 3 movies planned. The next 2 would be so dumb. Besides, how do you just take off his skin and put it on someone else lol

I haven't seen the ending that was leaked (or want to because it will ruin it for me), but it can be a T-1000 that takes Johns form?

I am guessing this because you said John is a cyborg.

Yea sorry, I prolly should have put some spoiler tags in there, but nonetheless I don't believe it was the real ending ever. McG himself dismissed it saying it was an idea they played with early on but never actually shot anything for it. It wasn't involving a T-1000. This movie is set before the machines had advanced far enough to create those advanced Terminators. While that would have made more sense, the whole idea is dumb. The real ending will be much better, no doubt it will be a cliff hanger though which will annoy me as the sequel is likely quite a ways off. 58 days left :)

^ Yea thats why I didn't bother doing it.

I'm not saying I think it's a bad idea. But for the first in a trilogy I think it is. That's something you'd end the 3rd on. I think watching 2 more knowing he's a cyborg would be too weird. Plus Bale would have to completely change his character and I can't see him playing a lifeless/emotionless role very well. Besides, humanity's savior being a machine? Cmon, we can't even save our own asses? lol

for those who seek the awesome song from the Derek/Jesse scene of the last episode, here it is, New Messiah by Dead Heart Bloom

oops, wrong thread, should post this in the SCC one :p

please delete this post, thanks

Yea, but I'm a sucker for those post judgement day war scenes. Love all the explosions, gunfire, glowing red eyes, hk searchlights, and of course, destroyed cars, buildings and what not. Visually its just incredible and the thought of actually being in that situation is too intense. I'd say I hope to see some wicked war scenes in the movie, but at this point its pretty much given. 52 more days!!

Yea, but Bale didn't provide his voice, I'd rather he look and sound different then one or the other. At least he doesn't look like a giant sissy like Nick Stahl.

true... but honestly I'd rather have Bale .. cause he's just badass. lol.

As everyone knows, the Terminator Salvation viral game is in full effect. The last update we wrote was in regards to the website ResistorBeTerminated.com being discovered, which is the central location for all major viral updates from now on. They just added a new viral video today, which can be seen below, featuring a few resistance forces from the future. All they say is that it's another broadcast from the future that appeared out of nowhere in their media folder. It looks pretty damn cool and of course it's only the start of what we're going to be seeing over the next month or so leading up to Terminator Salvation.

I love viral campaigns :D

    • Linux 7.1 arrives with an NTFS overhaul and major hardware performance boosts by Paul Hill The founder of the Linux kernel has just announced the availability of Linux 7.1. This is a stable version of the kernel that will now be tested by various Linux distributions before it is shipped to users through update managers. Some users, like those on Debian, for example, might not get it for a long time, if at all, while Fedora users can expect it in the near future. With Linux 7.1 out on time, the merge window for Linux 7.2 is now open, giving contributors the opportunity to send in major new features that have been waiting for the last two months. Torvalds warned that he is currently travelling and will be in another timezone, so timing for the merge window may be irregular due to timezone differences and limited internet access. Torvalds said that he has already fetched early pull requests to allow him to do some offline work, but the travel could still cause disruption. Right now, he is not planning to extend the release, but did consider it. He said he might later regret not extending, though. In terms of this last week of development for Linux 7.1, Torvalds said there were no major or alarming changes. This week consisted mostly of smaller driver updates to GPU, networking, and sound, networking fixes, trace tooling fixes, and misc minor fixes. The shortlog this week lists fixes for driver bugs, memory leaks, I/O and USB fixes, networking and RDMA fixes, DRM/graphics fixes, and tooling and verification improvements. Specific fixes include USB series heap-overflow and buffer overflow fixes, and multiple use-after-free, memory-leak, and refcount corrections across subsystems such as i2c, zram, gpio, and net. There are fixes for graphics drivers, including amdgpu, i915, and virtio, as well as hypervisor and virtualization tweaks affecting mshv, vmbus, and hyperv. According to Phoronix, anyone running Linux 7.1 should look out for the new NTFS driver, Intel FRED for improved performance on Panther Lake and future CPUs, faster graphics with Intel Arc Battlemage, and improvements for older AMD Radeon GPUs. If you are running Linux on your computer and everything is fine, then you don’t need to worry about updating to Linux 7.1 as a priority; just wait for it to be pushed to you. If you have tried Linux on hardware but it didn’t work properly, trying again with a distro that uses Linux 7.1 could cause Linux to work on your machine, thanks to the new hardware support.
