Terminator Salvation : The Future Begins

Recommended Posts

Nice spot Kaotic. I like the "I'll be back" line  I'm not normally big on seeing movies mid-week, but I'll be going thursday for this. Maybe even Wednesday night if they have midnight screenings.

Alright, I have never seen a movie opening night. I need tips. How should I buy the tickets and how early should I be in the theater to get good seats?

Well you can get tickets opening day, so if you plan on going that night you can buy them in the morning/afternoon. Usually a good chance they aren't sold out by then. Some places will let you order them a week or so in advance. I'll probably do that, here they'll let me print them out so I don't even have to stand in line to get them. In some cases you can pre order but have to wait to pick them up when you get there.

As for showing up, it really depends how big the theater is. I'd say at least 30 minutes if you want some good seats, for big movies they have people line up outside the theater doors. Sometimes even 30 minutes early you can get stuck sitting in the front rows. I'll probably go 45 min early, wait in line for 20 min then the rest inside. Some might not like waiting around but I'd rather suffer a bit for good seats, nothing worse than having to look up the whole time. Besides I have an iPhone to keep me occupied while I wait. I'd bring your snacks with you unless you're going with someone else, people won't think twice about taking your seat, although it's not always easy convincing others to go to midnight screenings lol

Will McG?s ?Terminator 5? Be Set in the Present?

When Warner Bros. announced long ago that ?Terminator Salvation? would be the first in a new trilogy of ?Terminator? sequels, we all assumed that the three planned installments would exist in a chronologically contained setting, during the post-apocalyptic war between humans and machines. However, in a recent interview with McG over at Film Journal International, the director hints that ?Terminator 5? might not adhere to such a strict timeline.

?I strongly suspect the next movie is going to take place in a [pre-Judgment Day] 2011,? McG told the trade publication. ?John Connor is going to travel back in time and he?s going to have to galvanize the militaries of the world for an impending Skynet invasion.?

The ?Terminator Salvation? director also mentioned that he thinks Connor (Christian Bale) will run into the human model for the T-1000, which was played by Robert Patrick in ?Terminator 2: Judgment Day.? McG previously expressed interest in employing Patrick for the next installment of the franchise, but it was assumed the actor would portray the T-1000 in the post-2018 era of the fourth film. Instead, McG suggests he?ll play a scientist involved with stem-cell research, who Connor meets in the past.

If all this seems completely wrong and confusing to you, you?re not alone. As much as a straightforward, fixed-chronology trio of films sounds boring in theory, I do believe it will be more interesting, especially since the trilogy serves the double-edged function of being both sequel and prequel. For these installments to work properly, there probably shouldn?t be any time travel until the end of ?Terminator 6,? when the character Kyle Reese (Anton Yelchin in ?Salvation?) and a T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) are sent back to 1984.

According to McG?s vision, ?Terminator 5? might be more like the first three movies, plot-wise, than ?Salvation.? But the cool thing about ?Salvation? is that it has a fresh sort of scenario to follow. Perhaps McG assumes that we?d prefer something more familiar?

Sounds awesome to me. While I'd prefer it all to take place after Skynet takes over I think mixing it up would be nice. Although if they did the effects of going back should be shown in the 6th movie with an alternate timeline which would ultimately have to be tied to the original timeline. Glad to hear them referencing Robert Patrick again I really hope they use that idea of him being a scientist, he's still one of my favorite actors but him playing the T-1000 again is completely out of the question.

Now I'm already anxious for the next! I'm just glad Bale is coming back for all 3 installments. Don't remember if he had signed a contract to do so but I remember him saying he'd do 3.

All this differnent time link junk is starting to get annoying IMO. Just kill Conner and get it over with. Bring on a new char and start fresh. Not a reboot of the series but just something new after the 4th film?

The john Connor character is the Terminator series. From the first film it's all about John Connor. If they just kill him off- then what would be the point of making another Terminator movie?

I guess they could follow like Kyle Reese, or make up some one new like the TSCC show did with Derek Reese.

Naw thats dumb killing off Connor isn't logical at all. It's like killing off Dexter, the series is based around him, everything and everyone is a reaction to him, without him they no purpose.

While I'm not a big fan of them raping time travel technically they haven't. It's only been the tv series that has abused it. The movies have not.

What the hell? Rihanna sings the Terminator song?

Yeah I saw this the other day I didn't post it because I thought she just named a song Terminator and it's not for the film...is it confirmed?

The first reader reviews of McG?s Termiantor Salvation have shown up online.

Gandalf The Grey over on AICN says that he went in with low expectations but ?actually came out of the cinema quite uplifted and hopeful.? He admits that the film ?isn?t as convincingly done as the Batman reboot? but its ?a good beginning for this storyline.? He called Arnold Schwarzenegger?s ?brief? cameo ?a cool moment?, and mentioned Danny Elfman?s score was ?too loud and big for the movi?Action is the keyword for this movie, which of course most people who goes to see this franchise will be expecting. I found that it had a little too much action, so that our characters wasn?t told in a way, that we could really bond with them. It lacked some more small moments of quiet interaction. The effects, however, are well done.? ? ?All in all I came out of the cinema with the belief that we may still have great stories from the Terminator universe, and that we at least have a fine piece of action movie, with the potential for a good story arc.?h the potential for a good story arc.?

    • DriversCloud 12.1.6 by Razvan Serea With DriversCloud (formerly My-Config.com), you can explore your computer easily, safely and free. The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it. Created in 2004, and continually improved, My-Config.com has established itself on the web as a free service to PC users running Windows and Linux operating systems. The service is designed to work with the most common Internet browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
