Digitalx
I would say NFS PS, purely because they ruined the game before even releasing it from the hype and build up from past games. Crysis, cause quite frankly was more talk then results in terms of performance which has really ruined it till or if they they fix it and it's lack luster single player game play. DrunknMunky Veteran Posted December 6, 2007 Veteran Share Posted December 6, 2007 They shouldn't be picking on Manhunt 2 for the Wii only. :: Lyon ::
Have you played Crysis? Yes, it is that bad I've only played the demo and a bit of multiplayer on a game exhibition.. stanley porkchop
In my opinion: Bioshock (Doom 3 set in the old days, but not as good) I don't want to start anything in this thread, as it's all opinion. But I have to ask: did you actually play Bioshock? I've finished it three times and no where did it remind me of Doom III :/ Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/605030-the-most-disappointing-games-of-2007/page/3/#findComment-589039469 Share on other sites

I think the game was overhyped again, like Halo 3. Also, there's no online modes at all, so that's a big letdown. spenser.d
I dunno if anyone's mentioned it yet, but I figured I'd throw COD4:MW out there, since all the apparently AAA titles of this year are goin onto this list. I've never even played COD4 :p It is kind of a letdown in that it came out in a very saturated FPS market, thus making me care a whole let less than I used to about wanting to even play the game :( And I was thinkin the other day about how the day Crysis hit the market seemed to correlate with the day I stopped hearing anything about the game. Kinda figured that meant it ended up being a letdown. -Spenser Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/605030-the-most-disappointing-games-of-2007/page/3/#findComment-589039534 Share on other sites

ANova
Crysis. Had all the graphics but no gameplay. And the ending just sucked seriously. Agreed. As far as NFS PS, I was a huge NFS fan up to about HP2 where the series took a nose dive with underground as EA attempted to cash in on the stupid fast and the furious fad. I don't expect anything good with the NFS name now. Brandon
Assassin's Creed. I felt that the AI was completely overhyped. The living crowds were probably 20 different characters repeated. "100s of unique NPCs" --- yeah right. Pickpocketing is a click-and-win. May as well not have bothered making it a feature. Saving locals plays out the same couple of ways, over and over again. I'm still playing through it, and still enjoying it though. But it was definitely over-sold. There simply is not enough variety in the game which boasted so much variety. I know that in first-person-shooters, there is literally 1 way to kill someone. Shoot them. For some reason I don't get the same satisfaction from knifing people 5 different ways. :/ Maybe it's because First person shooters are expected to change the gaming world. I agree and disagree. Yes the game is getting very repetitive, and I have completed 6 missions. I think one way the game could have progressed was to add more weapons as time went on (start with long sword, then get short, then knives, then hidden blade). Starting with all weapons was a shocker for me. Ive had it for about two weeks and have enjoyed it throughly, but to get all the achievements will be a stretch for me. Something about finding 100 hidden flags seems pretty stupid, especially with pretty much no action in doing so. had they made more side quests, like in Zelda, I would be keeping it (instead of reselling it after I beat it, then picking up Mass Effect). Boz
I second Crysis and Lair... I think Crysis AI is dumb as sh*t even on hard and Lair, well we all know the answer to that. Crysis is too demanding hardware wise, looks good but the whole experience leaves you empty. I think that Forza, PGR4, Assasins Creed, Halo 3, COD4, Bioshock all really did not dissapoint. I had and still have huge fun with these titles. Crysis's AI is dumb as sh*t but Halo 3, COD4 and Bioshock had good A.I.? IMO, Halo 3, COD4 and Bioshock all did right what Crysis didn't, and it wasn't A.I. -- they all had a sufficient amount of enemies (not an insane amount), and they all were easy to kill in some form or fashion because they had weaknesses. Crysis's enemies could be very annoying, however (especially the helicopters), and they came at you in massive waves on some levels. The story to Crysis was weak but well-presented, similar to Gears of War -- played like a big action Hollywood movie but just lacked much of a story. Ending battle was atrocious, too, as were the vehicle missions IMO, Bioshock had the worst A.I. of all the games mentioned, but it was the most fun. That doesn't match up to the rest of your post, though, as what you said you'd have liked is more or less what actually happens.
