setup pictures and video clips are on the SXT forum, so check them out ;)

feel free to ask anything that you may be interested in, I'll be glad to answer you...

I'll keep you updated with our next session! soon, very soon :D

penryn is comin'!

@Cephas: look at maximus extreme board, X38 chipset with 2* x16 lanes (CrossLinX) instead of x16/x4 on P35...

having (2) x16 lanes is good and all, but that's not what is shattering the WRs... it's the extremely heavy overclocking.

yup, you're right ;)

and tweaking the OS is also essential...

currently, we're waiting for new Penryns to come in Serbia and when we get them, it'll be party :D...

Woah! I didn't think even QX6850s could reach near 5GHz speeds. I can only imagine how hot the CPU would get running all four cores at that speed (but can also imagine how fast things would be too!!).

Well if you read it you'd be imagining how cold the cores are. -125 degrees

nice work dude. should keep an eye for liquid helium next time maybe :p

also isn't these new yorkfields able to hit 5GHz on just HSF no LN2 ?

ashame can't see what you could do with core 2 quad/extreme and CrossfireX 4 x 3870's lol

Anyone think it would be possible for me to get my E6850 at 4GHZ?

Possible since i have my E6600 at 3.5Ghz, i can't go further because of voltages.

Proper cooling and correct hardware, etc.. can do wonders.

David.

yes, Yorkies have extreme OC potential and Wolfdales too ;) (can't speak about that cause NDA is still active :), but you can see all over the net how well they preform)...

wait, maybe we could do some CFX testing in future :D

@Garnett: really, there was no important tweaks at all :( but it will be next time :D

@mtber: you could push it to 4GHz with higher voltage and better cooling, but do you really need to go that high!? 3.5/3.6/3.8 is just fine...

    • It's expensive, but I bet it will still sell out just like the Steam Deck and the Steam Controller
    • This is listed as a preview in WU for me. I usually don't grab them as previews; what's your opinion on it so far?
