Jason S. Global Moderator Posted December 13, 2007 Global Moderator Share Posted December 13, 2007 having (2) x16 lanes is good and all, but that's not what is shattering the WRs... it's the extremely heavy overclocking. Neo Razgriz
Woah! I didn't think even QX6850s could reach near 5GHz speeds. I can only imagine how hot the CPU would get running all four cores at that speed (but can also imagine how fast things would be too!!). Digitalx
nice work dude. should keep an eye for liquid helium next time maybe :p also isn't these new yorkfields able to hit 5GHz on just HSF no LN2 ? ashame can't see what you could do with core 2 quad/extreme and CrossfireX 4 x 3870's lol Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/606046-2x-wr-with-ati-amd-hd-3870-crossfire/#findComment-589093307 Share on other sites
+dave164 Subscriber¹ Posted December 28, 2007 Subscriber¹ Share Posted December 28, 2007 Good lord that is amazing. What kind of OS tweaks are you doing? I wonder what bench's you would get on Vista, see if it is worse David. +dave164 Subscriber¹ Posted December 28, 2007 Subscriber¹ Share Posted December 28, 2007 Anyone think it would be possible for me to get my E6850 at 4GHZ? Possible since i have my E6600 at 3.5Ghz, i can't go further because of voltages. Proper cooling and correct hardware, etc.. can do wonders. David.
